Linux or Windows XP

I am downloading Linux OS right now, and i am just wondering what is better XP or Linux.

You sure you know what you are doing? If you dont give up because Linux itself wont be that great.

You need a Linux based os such as Ubuntu. but if you seriously have no clue what you are doing.. your drivers will get messed up and end up having a bricked pc.

You have absolutely NO idea.

Linux is an excellent full-featured operating system for what it is intended for.

Secondly, everyone needs to start somewhere. He might give up on Linux because he can't run his favourite Windows programs. That may be the case, as it was for me a few times. However, if you're going to talk random bullshit that just spewed out without putting real consideration in to it, please don't post at all.

He doesn't NEED a Linux DISTRIBUTION (not operating system), such as Ubuntu. What about Debian, Red Hat, Fedora, SuSE, Mandriva, Gentoo and so many more? If he has no clue what he is doing his drivers will NOT get messed up with the result of a bricked up PC. If he has no clue about something he has but to simply ask on the distribution's forum, lo and behold, he learns something.

Mate, I've been using Linux for years, did you install it for a day and uninstall it because you couldn't install and run your games? Linux isn't intended for games, moreso you don't even need a GUI to use it (Indeed one of my two installations doesn't include GUI) for it's purpose.

you are foolish. I don't believe you even know the proper definition of "bricked".

Also, I use windows primarily, but I advocate linux in the appropriate situations.


Linux is very easy to use. Any problem you may run into is solvable by a simple google search.
