Legal Council Service

Hey everyone ... so next year i'll be starting law school and I was wondering if it was allowed on sythe to have like a "legal council service"? Do you think it'd be relevant to have such service on here?

i'd offer advices for a small pay and it'd allow me to practice what I see in school. Ofcourse, it wouldn't be a "lawyer's" advice, it'd be a law student's point of view

Just looking for opinions at this point, good or bad.

Honestly, I don't think it makes a difference if you're only a first year, there's not really a lot of specific knowledge you can advise on.

I would be interested though depending on what area of law you are looking to specialize in and to what extent your knowledge is.

 

well my first year is mostly going to be on individuals and property law so it my counselling would revolve around these subjects, at least for the first year. After that it could expand towards business counselling, it's still to be determined

 

The law varies from state to state, country to country, and situation to situation. The fact that you would be offering your services for consideration, even with a disclaimer is something I would generally encourage against.

 

I don't think it would be worth it at all, IMO.

 

yea that's the kind of reasoning I had come to, it'd be hard / if not impossible to be able to offer counselling to various people in different states / countries at the same time since laws vary from places to places.

might offer a service for free though, in a "use at your own risk" fashion

It'd allow me to practice my thinking and rhetorics skills.

As stated above laws vary state to state, even county to county. A lawyer in CA cannot practice in Nevada (without additional licenses) and vice versa.

Asking for compensation for "a law students point of view" is borderline preposterous as well..

 

You could start a thread for your point of view for people to ask you things, but as it's been stated laws differ so greatly that your point of view on the situation could be EXTREMELY wrong. I'd say do it for free just to attempt to give people a little help while also not giving too deeply of advice, as your advice could cause them problems - and it'd be in best interest to let others know that.

Saying that it is a legal council, and then giving horrible advice, such as not needing a lawyer for such a thing, could end up landing yourself in legal trouble at some point.

Be clear - This is a point of view, not a legal council, laws may differ where you are, but I'd be glad to let you know my view and give you advice on what I'm currently aware of. (and such a thing can't really be sold. If I could sell advice/opinions I'd be rich by now)

 

I wouldn't bother, you're basically just an individual offering an "advice service." People can google their issues, make a post in personal support, talk to people they know, and so forth.

Your going into law school, that doesn't mean you automatically have some amazing bearing on legality of whatever; furthermore, (as others have stated), it differs WAY too much from state-to-state - or country to country - for you to provide any real legal input. So yeah, that brings you back to basically an unqualified advice column.

Outside of that, I just don't think it would be a popular business (at least on Sythe.)

 

very good opinions, that was the king of opinionated input I was looking for.

it's true that asking for payment was way over the top, also another point I have been thinking about is that, in essence, Sythe can be considered a black market website (for video games products and such) and as such, it might not be wise for me to associate with it with a "business" service such as legal counsel.

I think i've had all the answers I needed.
