Killing for $$$

Whatever the use of the money, it is still murder to attain it.

Pressing the button is a direct correlation to the death of a human. It is the same.

I understand in both cases they are murder, but there's indirect and direct murder.

A mafia boss calls a hit on a low level drug dealer

He is in sense indirectly murdering him

there's still a difference

No, I would not do it just for money.

Money, created by man to kill other man? I don't get it. The feeling of sparing someone's life is a great euphoric feeling. I would probly kill myself with guilt if I did it.

But what are ethics? Man-made. People need to put aside both "moral decisions" and "legal ramification" which are both man-made. Think about what we really are as humans....

A wolf would kill an innocent baby calf to feed its family. A human that is able to kill their "calf"(innocent person) -especially indirectly(without seeing it)- and receive that which can reassure the well being of them and their family ($1mil), should be expected to do so without being frown upon.

This is a matter of money -- something imaginary and is only worth something because of man-kinds greed. Your methology is stupid. Im not even going to argue it.

How is a button any less direct? Killing someone you don't know on the street and killing someone you don't know on the street with your eyes closed is no different.

Cant you comprehend what direct means ?

Pressing a button wouldn't be directly killing someone as your not directly doing something which would kill them, your doing something which would lead to them being killed. indirect

Killing someone with a knife, your doing the actual actions which would kill them. direct

you cant change the definitions of what they mean just by claiming there the same, when they're clearly not...

It depends in what financial situation your in. I myself would probably do it. The world is powered by money. People already murder, attack, and slaughter for cash.

Ah, idealizing animal behavior. Great. I hope after you have sex, the woman cannibalizes you. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latrodectus)

why act as if we are not animals? because we are intelligent? I merely made the analogy to defend those who take a "yes i would" stance from unnecessary ridicule. your own display of subtle aggression by insisting that I'm killed by my mate clearly portrays the ability of a human to regress to a more animalistic, instinctual state. It simply supports my original statement.

I'd do it. The fact is, you can do a lot with 1 million dollars. Everyone is going to die eventually, and if their death is quick and painless, even better for them, as they could from getting shot in the face. I just happen to benefit a million dollars. Yeah, that's a cold way to look at things, but you have to do bad things to get ahead.

Survival of the fittest. You imply moral implications, I say that to me... my life is more valuable than anyone else. If someone were to push that button, and I were to die, then I hope they make the best of their life with the reward they received for such.

However, I would not stop myself from pressing that button... as in this world your 'morality' is only held by a set number of people. In a Utopia, sure, I wouldn't press the button because I'd have no need to, nor would anyone else, and everyone would love each other. In today's world, I have to eat and live... I most certainly can't count on others to not make the wrong decision...

If morality was universal, your belief would be just and right, however... not all humans act on such rational beliefs, and are therefore prone to kill me first. Why should I be the one to make the right decision? What implicates me to be the better person when there is no ramification to my actions?

So you're saying pulling the trigger of a gun isn't "directly" killing them because it's the bullet that kills them? The "button" is essentially the same as the trigger.

No, its the thought of having some ones Child maybe a parent or grandparents life taken away.

I heard some were over 60% of people who Murder people end up in jail because the handed them selfs in.

Would be a hard decision. I would have to go with no though. There are a few people in my life that I wouldn't ever even have a small risk killing for a mere million dollars.

that is irrelevant; this thread is about indirect murder
Pressing a button to donate money to charity, you dont press the button someone dies. your a murderer ( in essence )

So what you are saying is that you're a murderer if someone dies and you don't save them? Then I'm guilty of a few million murders.

So you're willing to play the role of god to those who broke the law by judging if they should live or not?

personally i would never do this. Knowing i would be taking someones life for my own greed would eat away at me..

More like judge and executioner, it still happens in some country's(without the button)

If a man was walking down the street with a million dollars in his wallet, you'd stab him and take it? I see no difference here.
In all honestly if I were to kill someone for money I'd at least look my victim in the eye's. Morals may cause you to question your actions but death is ubiquitous we can barely control it, Most people transgress to some extent in their lifetime whether drugs, rape or murder if you break a law, whats to say someone else isn't entitled to do so.

My answer to op is No to pushing a button.

Not your nor anybody else in the world has any right to justify anybody else's death. What if you died? RIGHT NOW! Boom, your done! Because someone pushed that button.... Exactly.

You are a NOBODY, I am a nobody and none of us can rationalize killing anybody for any reason. Unless they murder someone I know :) ... then they will get a slow tortureous death

If that is truly your answer then you should be saying "two wrongs don't make a right" , not

If someone were to murder your little brother or sister right in front of you, would you not do anything? There has to be some order of natural selection... It may not make it right. But it would certainly make it better for you.

So what if you push the button, and someone else's little brother die, would you be okay to get a slow tortureous death?

The scenario does not say that if the button is pressed, events will occur that will lead to the death of a person. You must assume that pressing the button will automatically end the persons life. It is the same.
