    Killing for $$$

The movie is called 'The Box' with Cameron Diaz.

I wouldn't press the button, I couldn't enjoy the money knowing that someone died by my decision.

This is all I thought about while reading the OP.

OT, I don't think I would out of risk of killing someone close to me. If I was to do it a first time, I doubt I'd stop until someone I closely knew died.

Never, money is only a tangible item to buy and sell things that you need or want. You could just as easily "trade" your own self-produced items, or service with being returned another item or service than money.

Money is unfortunately something we all need. But not that bad, objects for the inexplainable thing we call life.

    It isn't fair, simply.

Absolutely, I wouldn't have a second thought about it. Ethically wrong, but I wouldn't feel any pain.

I saw this in a movie once, if you pressed the button you we're next to die; if someone after you pressed the button

    Killing for $$$

I have followed threads about the same subjects at other websites, and I always find it funny how people try to extenuate their words by saying that you could save many lives with a million dollars. Of course, in theory this is right. You can save more than one person with 1,000,000$ and you only kill one, so why not?

But that isn't how it works. In the end you wouldn't give all the money out, and even if you would that wouldn't make up for your deeds. Whether you believe in a God or not, it isn't up to you to decide who shall live and who shall die. You can't take the law into your own hands. It makes you a murderer, regardless what your intentions are. If someone pushes the button, and you see you see a family member die, how would you react? Would your first thought be that the murderer will hopefully use the money to save others?

I think i'd do it.... People die every via mobile phone robberies, knife attacks, drug crimes.... pressing a button once and receiving a life pick up.

I guess i would... i wouldn't feel guilty either it would just be like pressing 'X' on my ps3 remote when playing call of duty, and receiving $1m for it.

Millions of children die everyday in third world countries due to lack of food, clean water etc. instead of buying a PS3 you could have saved what, 50 childrens lives by donating it.... but you dont feel guilty about buying a ps3 do you.

The money you donate to sythe.org could save lives, but you dont feel like a murderer because you didn't donate it ? in my eyes everyone is a murderer

@Nyx you think it isn't upto us to decide ? Your already deciding who lives and dies whether you believe it or not.
That $200 you donated to sythe could have been used to save lives, you didnt use it to save lives so another group of children was left starving without clean water/food... your indirectly a murderer yourself

Everyone makes choices which effect other peoples lives you just need to open your eyes to see what those choices are

Killing someone is more than just money.
Lets assume its a man. If you kill him, you steal a boy's right to a father. You steal his wife's right to a husband.

When you kill someone, You become the worst of thieves. Its not just the money that matters. But the soul and the pain you will cause his family. Why not take the money and run? Why kill him?.

There is a difference, you would most likely go to jail for stabbing the man, in the case of pressing the button for the $1m, you are not held accountable for it.

Tyro, I completely agree. Literally the "button" would serve as the trigger to a gun.

that is irrelevant; this thread is about indirect murder
Pressing a button to donate money to charity, you dont press the button someone dies. your a murderer ( in essence )

Pressing a button to kill somebody for personal benefits
    your an indirect murderer

Killing someone with a knife, direct murder. irrelevant.

But what are ethics? Man-made. People need to put aside both "moral decisions" and "legal ramification" which are both man-made. Think about what we really are as humans....

A wolf would kill an innocent baby calf to feed its family. A human that is able to kill their "calf"(innocent person) -especially indirectly(without seeing it)- and receive that which can reassure the well being of them and their family ($1mil), should be expected to do so without being frown upon.

Tbh whether you know it you've pressed a button which would indirectly effect another person which would/could result in death.

Not donating to charities resulting in death is just one of them

    cancer research, etc.

    Your practically calling yourself handicapped.

Whatever the use of the money, it is still murder to attain it.
Pressing the button is a direct correlation to the death of a human. It is the same.
