Good luck on your recovery. I wear glasses and I'm fine with them. I honestly would be to frightened to to have laser eye surgery.

 

Good to see army giving good benifits, personally never had to wear glasses thank god for good genes.

 

As stated previously, it was free through the military. As far as the whole "can I go completely blind" question: It is a surgery, and as with ANY other surgery, there are of course (minuscule) risks involved.

It doesn't hurt DURING the process one bit. In fact, they "brush" off the top layer of your cornea, and this actually kind of tickles (as disturbing as this sounds.)

The Doctor made a joke about it too, which I found kind of sick and at the same time extremely amusing. She asked me, "I bet I'm the only person you've ever had tickle your eyeball."

I had to laugh.. Lol.

Anyways, you don't feel the pain until after the numbing drops they use wear off, which happens a few hours after the procedure. At that point, take your norco's(Vicoden) and cover your eyes with a COLD/Frozen cloth, and wait it out. It doesn't last extremely long. I just had the procedure done yesterday, and other than the fact that my eyes are quite dry and somewhat irritated, there's virtually no "pain" involved. Just slight discomfort.

With that being said, I do need to limit my time on the computer/watching TV, etc, so I'm off. Hope I answered any questions.

The glasses were free. Military issue. I'm not going to get money back for something I didn't pay for.

So far, yes.

The recovery process sucks. Seeing as I only had the procedure done on Tuesday, I'm still recovering. My eyes are still quite sensitive, and dried out. As I tyhpe this up, I actually have my eyes closed. It's difficult to ook at the computer screen for lengthy periods of time, but I know once they fully heal and everything is all said and done, I'll be extremely happy with it.

WORTH IT.

And don't you have to be fully conscious during a surgery of that type? If so, that must have sucked.
