I think Jagex is introducing microtransactions to compensate for the financial loss
when they release optimus
and ban all the botters that are paying for membs out the game...

Dosent it make sense though? Or am i just paranoid

What do you mean introducing micro-transaction. How exactly?

After they killed off Nexus nothing much changed.

They make extra money now off the Solomon shop and Sqeual Spins.

I know but now jagex is REALLY trying to lure people into buying more spins.

Im trying to say:

What if jagex REALLY bans the bots, and REALLY makes a good system to catch botters,

Jagex gets ALOT of extra money from bots,If they ban the bots they will lose money

I think they are having all of these squeal of fortune/salomon store promotions in order to get players to actually buy spins/runecoins

Thus they can ban the bots but still be super rich

Do you get im what im saying?

PS:If i sound stupid,,excuse me I just smoked the dankest of the dank =D

Ya that is true, it's not a secret.
They are having solomon/spins to get more money, and doing promotions to get more money.

Yes they lose $ from banning botters, but in long run they have a game that is sustainable and that people actually want to play and has a growing playerbase, so in the end they want no bots, and just legits.

People actually want to play?.
Growing playerbase?

60% of runescapes population is botters
30% No Lifers
10% People who justs play for shits and giggles

But since they want no bots
Does that mean im correct in assuming that they are having those promotions to get ready for optimus?

Well they WANT a growing placebase and legit players so they can make money in the long run.

More bots= less people will want to play legit because bots ruin the game for legit players.

Promotions/Sqeual/Solomon have nothing to do at all with Optimus...
They are just ways for them to make more money because that is the point of a business.

Bullshit more than 60% of rs players are botters you know how i know ? When my bot needed to update and wasnt running there were less than 40k people online . w64 (my homeworld) has 84 people online . Think about that, it usually runs about 1000-1200 and it had 84 people online .. look at the amount of people online whenever theres ANY sort of update that halts bots temporarily .. its outrageous the amount of botters in game .

I think...
I mean... there is no underground reason on why they are doing this.
They are under new management and this is how the new owners want it.

Jagex knows that nobody will play without bots. The only thing that will happen is EOC update will kick bots offline for a week tops and they will call it Optimus. Jagex will not shoot themselves in the foot.

EVERY MMO has bots and EVERY MMO has people selling in game currency.

You know how jagex can fix this problem? Cut out the middle man and just start selling gold and items. Blizzard puts RWT in their games and Arenanet which created Guild Wars has a in game shop to purchase items.

Companies are starting to realize that nobody besides no lifers will sit and grind stupid ass quests for months and instead making games pay to win which i am fine with.

You people need to open your eyes.

Quite wrong. Legitimate players will always outweigh a population of bot accounts. The more players interested in the game, the more the word will spread and new players will join. The more bots you have in the game, the less people will care to play; a steady decrease in overall player base. This also makes the gold they're farming less valuable because there's less legit players to buy.

Also, actually the Optimus platform was released back in April...

There's a handful of games that have macro software for them, yes, but very few. This is absolutely a false statement, I don't know you would make an accusation like this, just plain stupid...

They have this already, directly as Soloman's Shop and indirectly as the SoF. Jagex selling trade-able items wouldn't have too much of an effect on the goldfarming market. If anything it would only cause the gold-farmers to decrease their price; most players would still buy from them as they're bound to have lower prices than Jagex.

If you think that Runescape has a higher population of legit players then /thread. That's the most asinine statement i have ever heard. I do agree that the more bots you have will decrease player base. Just look at WOW, D3, Runescape.....etc.

You must live under a rock because the top MMO's of today have bots for them. Macros like mmoglider for wow and D3, Powerbot/Simba for runescape and the bots currently being developed for GW2...etc.

See i can make a accusation like that because its absolutely true.

No they don't have this already. Solomon's shop is cosmetic items and SOF is indirectly RWT since you can never land on rare items and mostly get XP lamps if your a member. I think if they did sell trade-able items then it would be the final nail in this rapidly dying game we call Runescape, forget about the goldfarming market.

What are getting at?

See above ^_^

That's not what I said, read closer mate. I did not say there's a higher population of legitimate players than bots, I said legitimate players will outweigh the population of bots. The more people interested in the game, the more the word will spread and new comers will join. I cannot say this any simpler for you, sorry.

You listed 3, I can compile a list of 220 MMOs. 3 compared to 220, like I said, very few.

Again, wrong. It's quite possible to get rare and super rare items. I read on the forums recently of someone already winning the weekend's 400M super-rare SoF prize. On top of that there's multiple people who've won the multi-million prizes on SoF.

Tbh i don't think they lost that much from getting rid of rsbots.net and nexus etc, i remember them saying a huge part of the problem was that these places and gold farmers were using fraudulent credit cards to pay for their memberships, so a good majority of the gold farmers and botters weren't really paying Jagex anyway, was all fraud.

I can't verify this information, but I've heard from multiple sources and it kinda makes sense.

^ and 72% of all percentages are made up.

I agree with you, mostly. I doubt they will ever destroy all bots like they want, but the extra money thing, yes. No secret they're losing money by banning p2p bots, but in the end it'll work out for the better.

I'm sure they're tired of going to some MMORPG meeting, explaining the large numbers of players they have actively playing to then here some long haired, pale, no lifer say "And how many of those players do you estimate are ran by automated programs?"
