    Bot nuke question

I wasn't playing when the big bot nuke happened so I'm not very familiar with it. Did the nuke just make it more difficult for bots to run or did it make jagex better equipped to ban bots? Or both? Were there lots of bans when this happened or just broken bots?

Also, was the fps update Optimus without a doubt? Or was it just one part of it?

    Will bots beat Optimus?

    Bot nuke question

To answer all your questions briefly, here goes:

The first nuke had two tiers. Firstly, it changed the Object IDs and such so that it randomizes for each player, each time they load Runescape. Injection bots would utilize these object IDs to click, so they had to first develop their clients to compensate. Since then, many clients have done this. The second part of the bot nuke was a lawsuit against the Snellman Brothers (owners of the NeXus client) which basically said using Jagex's client like they did was illegal, and it sets precedent to sue other bot companies if they do the same thing. The nuke came with no significant mass bans at all; if anything, it actually gave Jagex reason to unban (with a stat reset) some accounts if you requested it. Color bots were largely unaffected, although they did implement some color changes (like in loot menus, dropped item colors, and random events being colored) to deter these a little bit.

The recent FPS update didn't do anything to bots. However, Mod Jacmob said that it set up Runescape to be able to run the second bot nuke.

    Bot nuke question

I'm using simba at the moment. What I'm really asking is they don't compile information or pay special attention to accounts that they think are suspicious do they? They are just able to ban after the nukes come out right? I'm not going to be using simba and then quit for a while and then get banned when Optimus comes out?

I hope that made sense. The nukes don't give jagex the ability to detect and ban accounts they believe to be botting before the nuke do they? It only messes up future bots?

No they won't wait till after the next nuke. If they will bann you the within reasonable timespan of the actual botting. But it is really safe anway, only very few have gotten banned.

Yes that is very, very likely correct. I am not a programmer or anything but it is hard to believe they will be able to do that. They would have to keep masses of data to do that if even possible.

So color bots don't seem to be in any immediate danger?

True. Color bots can, as far as I am aware of, essentially not be stopped, unless Jagex would would change colours everytime you log in.
