If you are SERIOUSLY addicted and need help, do what i did. I ripped my game cds and blocked RuneScape on my browser. Helped me but i wasted $120 in the process. I think its worth it

 

Put your computer in a very awkward place, so as to make it a hassle to use your computer. Eventually you just say fuck it and stop using the thing altogether

3.Study

5.Profit!!!

That's what i tell myself every time I sit down at the computer (lol)

anyway, think of the most successful people in the world. What are they doing right now? THere are billions of things you could be doing right now, all leading to a different path of life.

that's a nice philosophy I came up with a couple of days ago

 

tbh first, i would study for about 1and a half hrs a day, then play for about 1hr a day and go down 10 minutes less on the pc/games/etc.
then eventully just play once or twice a week, so i ahve the same problem what i did was gave my files away, then just made an attack pure and get on once in a while, so hope this helps but thats what im doing

 

and i would get a new hobbie, or play baseball or something, it gets ur mind of the pc, and games/etc, soo i think you should try new things, and umm think of yr heros, like derek jeter or athlets i bet they played games and sat on the pc and stuff to, so the eventully went out and started new hobbies and stuff.....

 

Ask your parents to put a password on the computer. <-- What I did personally.

Unplug your internet cord, and give it to your mom until you're done your homework.

Look at it this way: You're fighting virtual characters in a fake virtual world, everything is fake... the game is completely pointless. I remember getting 99 fletching when I used to play runescape and as soon as I got it I realized it wasn't going to help me anyway in life or make me fell better, then I quit.

 

He didn't say anything about Runescape, but I'm assuming he plays it.

I have never understood what people mean that online games are pointless. In the long run, I can't see anything that has a real point. Getting an education, sure, it has a point. You get one so you can get a good job and such, but then you pass the years away with your 9 to 5, scraping money together so you're able to repeat the process. You do this over, and over, and over. You keep running to keep the machine running.

I can't see much point in that. Sure, it's good if you want to marry and have children, but is that really the best that it can get? Is that really the climax of the human experience? Is that the best outcome? It's no wonder people get caught up with fantasy games. The benefits of keeping up with the Joneses has, and I think will never make sense to me.

 

My friend had this problem 2 years ago. Theres no easy answer....its all will power, just gotta try to fight the urges

 

I'm failing college and I'm in my 4th year because of halo 3 :S I wasn't that bad last year.

 

Imagine yourself at 25 years old living in your parents' basement playing video games, with no girlfriend, driving a shitty car or no car at all, while all of your friends graduated from college, have good paying jobs and have girlfriends. Thinking about this usually scares me into studying.

 

I live at home during the summer and I'm 22, have a gf and have a nice car. Sucks that I really messed up and have to go another year :S

its all about self control dude if you really want to do your exams then focus on it, its like a cigarette craving it only lasts 5mins then you forget about it till you want another..

Just take small breaks

 

Try to get Many friends to try and hang out with you, if other than that I would take the computer, put it in a basement or in a room where you can lock the room. Get the Key, give it to your parent/guardian and tell them to hide it somewhere, until later on the exams.

If that doesn't work, Delete SYSTEM32 Off your computer.

 

think about your life, think about what you are doing.
just DO NOT put it on, unless u finished learning.
u'd better study now.
better a good job then failing at school and do it all over again, it's so pointless.. just study and keep the good work up! (y)
