I don't believe this is what they wish to achieve. They stated this, "There are many dormant accounts within the hiscores that have not played for a very long time, and this will give new arrivals in Gielinor a shot at hiscore fame alongside the grizzled veterans on equal terms for all."

I believe their reason is valid, however, not very necessary. A true player is not going to play for the sole purpose of being highly ranked, they are playing because they enjoy the game. Although obtaining a high rank has its perks, it's not why most play the game.

 

Kind of an unnecessary update imo.

 

Looking forward to the highscores being more accurate, but I can definitely see f2p being pretty upset about this =/ If you're skilling high enough to be on the highscores, then odds are you're doing it to be on the highscores lol.

Oh and also I'm surprised strength is the most common 99

 

i never been those kind of persons who use the highscores but it was kinda usefull for pvp and staking

 

f2p staking will be fun now

 

They just screwed over all F2p staking and pking..

Pretty shitty on Jagex's part but now that they lost all that botting revenue they want more reasons for f2p players to upgrade. I'm sure they're thinking that because they've improved the game by nuking the bots, players will be more loyal to them. We'll see how it plays out

What the fuck is that even supposed to mean.... That's completely idiotic. Just another nail in the coffin for Runescape if you ask me.

 

I have alot of fun playing F2P, and with this BS they pulled I have no problem ending my membership with them. Runescape will be ruined even more in another 6 months. Jagex is slowly running players off with all the "New" updates going on.

This is definately a string I wouldnt have pulled..

 

how many of you that are whining about this update actually use the highscores frequently on there f2p account? jagex is probably reading this right now thinking "umadbroz?"

and to everyone saying f2p pking is ruined... can u even stake in f2p? and if u can, cant u just use quickchat?

Edit: oh, i remember how useful it was... I got a name like "36991" added and It was nice to see on the hi-scores that is was a account with some skills. Not just a level 3...

But well, That's going away... RIP Hi-Scores. 2001 - 2011. Now i can never see what level people have, instead of being confused if it's a in-active / level 3.

 

Have none of you taken in to account the numerous amounts of gold farmers who achieve 99 in a skill and then ditch their accounts? I think this update is great.

 

Could of just made it show active players, e.g must log in once a week to show in high scores or something

 

This is horrinble,, I think the f2p player aint happy.

 

Wouldn't have minded having my name in the high scores here and there, now I'd have to pay members for this? Another reason to leave RS.
