Highscores P2P only (Updated with Rank Differences)

Funny, most of the people against this are sworn long time F2P players, from which Jagex doesn't benefit in any way, nor does it hurt them if they leave. Pretty good update, imo. Only downside is retired legends won't be visible anymore.

 

So according to you these things are non-existent?

 

I lol'd because this is so true. People say F2P brings nothing to the table but link traffic probably makes jagex more than membership.

 

People like old nite, obviously he's not #1 or even in top 10, and other legends of old RS will never be shown on the highscores which is utter bull. So if someone with 200m exp who is #1 becomes f2p, does that mean that because they reached 200m exp first, but lost membership, that if they rejoin they won't be #1? JAGEX just wants people to pay for membership even while they don't play....lol

I think it's bullshit to be honest. So now in order to keep their permanent achievement of being rank 1 in a skill, they have to stay p2p for the rest of the lifespan of the game, or else someone can take their achievement?

Sure, Runescape isn't worth it period playing in F2P but this doesn't make it right.

 

If this is a method to get more members, it's stupid, it's just highscores..

Jagex has always said Runescape will remain free, however I do agree. I think you'll see Runescape a P2P MMORPG within the next couple years.

 

^ This. I think with RS no longer owned by the Gower brothers, Jagex will go back on alot of things they originally said/promised. Especially after the loss of revenue they must have experienced recently nuking all the bots who paid subscriptions, I would not be surprised if they start making moves towards forcing people to become P2P or quit.

 

This is really stupid, F2P should be able to have this... F2P have like nothing less on RS nowadays.

 

If Jagex force us to become P2P then I'll quit, I'll sell my account if it came to it.

Couldn't they just take inactive accounts off the Highscores? F2Pers have a ridiculously hard time leveling most their skills compared to P2P and most of the time the inspiration is for Highscores
