Graphics on sythe dead?

GFX isnt restricted to userbars, etc.

Look at some on TDDs work, its massive and looks awesome.

Darkspark, please, I would love to see your work (i am a MASSIVE fan of graphite)

I think there needs to be some sort of thing to encourage GFX here.

I agree. It seems as if this section of sythe has just... died.
I posted some of my work (all of it is in the post below).
If im any good, I think that I can try to begin making... sigs and whatnot.
Unfortunately no one replied to my post.

 

I think that it's official. I'm just chopped liver around here. LOL. If people need guidance, I've always been willing to help. That's what I'm here for. Anyone who is serious can get professional level guidance from start to finish.

 

Just so you know, there are a few ideas i've been trying to get implimented to help the GFX Forum, just gotta wait on Steph's approval.

 

My only question, is where do you get the models for your work from.

The models for my works are always found on deviantart.com. Each one, on a typical basis, is a few hours search. However, I've found a certain photographer, and she is quite good at self-potraits. She actually has fit a lot of my ideas for works, before I even came up with them. Quite good with poses and lighing. I usually add all of the dA items that I use in works to my favorites, so if you want to see the models, just check my favorites.

I had a quick look through your dA page luled at the monopoly man, but then I saw the auro+and orb/orbWS.

Yeah, Auro and those other works are old, however, and I can do much better at lighting now than I could then.

I'm not going to be able to give any examples right now, as my PC is still being shipped in the mail. Right now I'm using a laptop or PS3 to randomly post on sythe. My HDD, with all of my recent works is sitting on my floor, along with a motherboard, awaiting the rest of the parts to come UPS. They should be here by tommorow as scheduled, but I'm not so sure it's giong to make it on time, with the recent snowy weather nationwide in the US.

Lately I've been working with other types of lighting, such as clouds and skin, as wel as texturing. I've pretty much got everything, as far as technical works are concerned, down to a science, so I decided that I needed to broaden my graphic perspective. As an example of my progress, go back to the wallpaper 'framed' on my dA page, and you may or may not notice that I had to completely reconstruct her right-side arm in order to properly light it for the new flourescent lighting that came down, rather than the pre-existing lights. I'm sure this could have been something you missed before, because I made sure to note that in her picture, as it was taken by a digital camera, there was some slight color grain distortion, so I incorporated that in the complexion of her skin. I was rather excited when I finished, just to look back and see my progress.

 

I did look at the wallpaper you speak of, the lighting in this case would be more difficult, because it needs to be 3 dimensional, to suit the part of her arm that is in and out of the frame.

As for broadening your graphics perspective, I was quite suprised when you labeled yourself as a Desktop Wallpaper Artist your work always seems to be geared around larger pieces I agree. I would have labeled myself Modern design artist.

 

Meh, any good tutorials for starting out there? Im pretty slick at Macromedia Flash MX, but that was back in the day, And i want to learn GFX.

Lol, well, thank you. I like to help those who seek my help, or that I can find have a high learning curve. Usually people who only make works using C4Ds and brushes aren't people who are willing to sit and take the time to make a work that they can really be proud of.

 

Maybe we could combine with some of the coders to create a new skin for sythe.

 

Everytime I look at that moon/ink filter I cringe.

 

I hope GFX doesn't die 'cause I wanna learn ALOT more. I've been looking at tuts, and people signatures to get ideas. I'm new to it all but I got the basics down. I'm trying to get really good at it. As for the skin, that would be nice... this one is ok but tbh compared to the newer skins now, its shit.

 

I was kinda active and made over 20 sigs on just sythe, but it seemed to have died a long time ago, and people just left. I'll post some of my work if ya want.
