Graphics on sythe dead?

Well recently I noticed alot of really apaling Gfx in this section, I miss people like

-Haunted
-Mafiacoder
-Darby
-Kurt
-Durial

Posting good gfx that made you wonder how they achieve the effects they use, as for now, we are stuck with

Yeah, the first one looks like it was slopped together in paint. Although we still have TDD left. :]

I guess I could make a shop, I am really good at GFX, I just don't really have the time to do it. I might start again, depends how much people really want it.

 

I disagree that GFX is dead. There are a lot of promising people in Sythe - we all start out somewhere. Kurt, for example, started as a boring C4D whore, but I would agree with your list that he's one of the best, now. The thing that changed Kurt from a trendy moron was criticism.

Criticism is completely absent from the Sythe forums now. It's all ratings.

God damn, I never wrote pages over someone's little 450x150 work, but "8/10" tells me one thing about my sig - you know nothing about it.

Let's turn that into a meaningful review. "Colours suck, go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colour_theory Using C4Ds is for unoriginal shits, same for brushes. Don't ever use them again. Maybe try lighting."

Rating breeds elitism (And is inconsistent), and provides no feedback.

 

I forgot about this thread, but basically yeah, I really didn't have time to get serious with GFX and looking back now it was much better 7+ months ago.

just so you know, GFX is more then just sigs... we need to get some large art creators in here, large art is more fun then sigs TBH... web design is even more fun! XD

i'd post more feedback for peeps, but i've been busy lately.

 

I'm trying my best to improve. All the work I see now adays are either ripped or just plain ugly. I see people submitting some ugly shit in SOTW and yet the win over the better sigs. I guess since Sythe isn't a gfx site they could care less about gfx.

 

bbri went all trippy, something about pianowire in gale force winds, that was the last time I talked to him.

Mafiacoder must of been good enough if he could edit his name in with out us noticing.

Phevil was good at large art.

 

wow, he mastered the art of adding a font to a ripped sig... he's so amazing at gfx...

when i get home, i'm going to find a random sig and add my name to it to show how easy it is.

Well, editing out certain parts of a signature (The name) Can require certain skill, mostly using the 'clone' tool, and the smudge and blur tools.

I would work my way up to large GFX, but I dont have the time.
As you can tell by my website, I havent even had the time to complete what I started on it, nor complete my clients orders and its seriously fucked up.

I dont get my computer with Photoshop for another 2 weeks maybe and the computer I'm on now is utter shit.

But I agree, GFX on sythe is somewhat dead, along with alot of other subjects (hint hint, Runescape, hint hint, moving into wow dammit).

There are currently only 2 people I respect from this forum (for their GFX) and that is Durial and TDD.

Durial appeared to know what colors went where and TDD is just fucking amazing.

What about thigns such as graffiti and stencils etc... i can do some tuts for people on stenciling small and large artworks... I might get to taking some photos etc.
