I usually prefer to sit back and enjoy the drama, but I think it's time we allow only TinyChat frequenters/Sythe veterans and the staff to voice their opinion on these current situations. The reason the staff locks threads like this is because all we do is go off-topic (yes, even mine is), so if you may... shall we start from the beginning?

After I read this post I was utterly appalled by the way the staff has decided to handle its self. You decided to make a rule to not allow people to talk about the old Tinychat, and people objected. The staff just sat back and infracted, deleted, and locked away every attempt of the users to fight back against the bullshit.

Agree with you there. It does not matter who goes in there. We're just having a good time. Are you totally innocent yourself? I wouldn't be surprised if you weren't.

I will say this again. TinyChat does not get you hacked. It does not matter who the operators are. Gearheart is filled with moderators and stupid rules, and to be honest I feel hesitant to talk because of what they might think of me.

The users are what make the community, the staff are those who try to keep the community running well. That doesn't mean that the staff are always right and the only ones that know anything.

About the whole Syed situation, if he had never been wrongfully banned in the first place, this probably would have never happened. I do agree that it is his fault for constantly trolling, even after being offered multiple chances.

Tyro also has done shady things on tinychat. For you to be saying "SCAMMERS!" are on tinychat and that they will do something bad, is laughable. Again I'm not going to mention any behavior as that would get me banned/not help this situation; but tinychat should be left to ourselves. The original reason for tinychat was that we needed a private spam forum. We would like to keep it that way.

Use whatever tinychat makes you happy, who cares if one is being endorsed and the other isn't, go into whichever one has your friends and the people you want to talk to in it. No one is forcing you to go to any tinychat, and it really shouldn't matter.

I talked to Syed about this matter, and have decided that Frank and I now own the sytheofficial one.

I don't remember word for word what was said nor can I find the quote now because it was on Rawr's dispute posted by R33l. He was saying something about corruption and he used the supreme court decision to back up his response.

Alright, so I will admit, I completely disagree with this punishment. While I would love to preserve a staff unified image on this, I simply do not agree, and will not pretend that I do.

First of all, the ban reason is for bribery. While reviewing some information regarding bribery, I came across this quote. "A bribe can consist of immediate cash or of personal favors, a promise of later payment, or anything else the recipient views as valuable." As well, it later said this "No written agreement is necessary to prove the crime of bribery, but usually a prosecutor must show corrupt intent." (The full article can be found here: http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/bribery) The key words in those quotes are "corrupt intent".

While some may argue that these acts were corrupt, I would argue they weren't, and I base that off of this definition, as stated by a Federal Judge on what corrupt intent actually is.

As far as I can tell, Rawr didn't have a single conscious motive of wrongdoing, nor was he in a "bad or evil state of mind." In fact, why would he do something such as this, given his current OMM app, his status as a moderator, among other accomplishments here on Sythe? It's simply not correct. He had NO, I repeat, NO, evil intentions in his actions, and I for one refuse to believe he is a corrupt moderator.

Furthermore, another source states "to induce the official to do or omit to do any act in violation of his or her lawful duty" (http://www.lectlaw.com/files/bur21.htm). In the context of the actual conversation, where the user was complaining no one would look at his dispute, and Rawr saying he would help (meaning to look at the dispute) is not an unlawful act as a moderator. In fact, it's very lawful and a duty he should do regardless. The trade was dragged on for HOURS, and if looking at a dispute would hurry it up, then I don't believe Rawr would have rejected the option, nor would most other people. It was NOT a malicious act.

Yes, perhaps his word choice could have been better, but this is a technicality that does not warrant a demotion AND permanent ban. I hope that the administration will reconsider their decision, as I firmly disagree with this, along with many others, and believe that this is simply going to hurt the staff, seeing as he was one of the more active and helpful moderators.

100% agreed. You arent going to be able to stop members here from being banned, its just not possible. I think how your going about this tinychat deal is ridiculous, if its not official, then dont try to act like it is. I can see where the problem is yes, but banning members who talk about it is just plain ignorant. That only cause's more of a problem.

We've discussed the issue thoroughly within the Staff Lounge. We have attempted to compromise with Darkgroove, but he had no intention of removing individuals from the Tinychat who were making it into a place where hacking was frequently being discussed and championed. It's fine that he won't compromise -- it's his room, but this is our site.

We've reviewed all of the posts made on this thread and have established that we are in agreement with Deacon. Things like Tinychat cause more trouble than they are worth, and, in accordance with global advertising rules, we've decided that personal ventures such as Tinychat should, too, not be advertised.(This covers ALL Tinychat channels.) After all, just as anything can be discussed on another forum (hacking, etc.) anything can be discussed on Tinychat as has been recently demonstrated.

We are trying to deal with this as civilly as possible as we acknowledge this has been a contentious and hotly debated topic. If anyone has further questions on the issue, please feel free to address them to any staff member by PM, or, if greater embellishment is required, feel free to post a Feedback thread. However, I think we've all seen enough drama for one day, so let's get along and respect each other's contrary opinions.

You can, as usual, advertise personal ventures such as Tinychat in your signatures. All is not lost!
