It is theoretically possible that with the proper balancing RwT wouldn't be a problem.


We can actually probably regulate what gold is sold at, as in we allow RwT on the server but only at slightly better rates then donations are, so we wouldn't lose donations to RwT because most people would rather just donate and not risk the ban/scam compared to RwTing, but RwT would remain profitable.

That is 1 way to handle the RwT aspect, I'm confident that RWTING will not be an issue though on this server, the problem is going to be 1. Developer Activity & 2. Players.


I think the players issue can be easily solved through SEO & a link or official announcement at least to get the first initial 20-50 people.

After that all we need is a vote system and that playerbase will put the sythe RSPS up high enough in the toplists that we would generate far far more traffic.

If Sythe considers this, we should aim for 9/1/16 as that'd be an ideal launch time for a variety of reasons.

Developer activity wise, Just got to find the right people and as time goes on, pay them or hire more as needed I suppose.

 

At one point Soul Split had a black market dedicated to rwt.

Don't hire retarded devs. Sythe will generate enough players to get a decent spot in toplists like you've said which will generate more players.

 

I agree on a rsps, it would be mad cash for Sythe and it would be really fun to have a server that the owners aren't corrupt.

I think everything is custom now, I havn't actually seen a private server source in 2 years, but i bet it's changed a lot!

If you did a WoW private server I'd be absolutely more than happy to set it up/code it/run it.

Other than that, Minecraft obviously, maybe Counter Strike?

RSPS if you intend on putting serious work into keeping it active and running. Can be very profitable.

 

Very profitable indeed, high ingame donor ranks, ingame special untradable items etc. I'd personally prefer 2011-2012 content but would be happy with anything.
Also, I'd be wiling to help maintain the ingame aspect of it and I'm sure many staff members would want to help out too.

If you're going to open up a RSPS you'll want:

> RWT allowed

If you're going to make a server please don't go above 317, Anything over 317 is basically dead content.

 

Not sure how we'd go about RWT/Botting, would have to discuss everything first

 

Rwt was discussed, but you could have popups that make you solve simple math equations for botting? Ik that's what ikov did and it removed autoclicking. But for botting with a real client like parabot or something, you could just have an in game report system/bot hunters?

Edit: I'm sure if a minirank was given on sythe for people who were bot hunters, people would do it (including me).

I made ikov bots. Their antiban was decent but nowhere near good enough, the Ikov bots I made were private and sold for hundreds. Probably inflated a very big chunk of the market.

Anyway, RWT has to be dealt with, and fast. It's going to happen, so pick how to address it. same with botting and other rsps rules that we all usually break.

what if someone breaks a rsps rule? Someone abuses a bug to scam a user. Ban them on sythe? Or are they playing games?

 

Sythe.org can act as the forum for the game, unless Sythe doesn't want to endorse the game (for legal reasons?).

Break a rule ingame = Ban ingame + Forum

Although one thing we have to address is ban evading. If you break a rule ingame and get banned on here+ingame are you allowed to make a new game account? On RSPS you are allowed to make several accounts ingame (and none on the forum if you want)

Edit: You would also need a new staff team for the game as managing a RSPS isn't that simple. Ikov was a pretty good one so you might want to look at using it and tweaking it @Sythe

 

Alotic just disappaeared as the best 748 or whatever version. it was 2012. a great version, and rsps's bring tons and a bunch would probably stay.

@Sythe just has to decide if he wants to endorse it. being sythe already, jagex would fucking drop us fairly quick unless you know a way around it that i'm not aware of.

It it's NOT endorsed by Sythe, we can't enforce the rules there. Separating it will be the only option. Imagine if you want to ban someone on sythe for rwt'ing on the rsps. You're banning sythe people from what people on sythe do.
