    Fingerprint recognition on phones

Fingerprint recognition isn't perfect on the iPhone 5s, but I got used to it.
If you place your finger on it in the same spot that you scanned in the first place it works almost all of the time.
Wet fingers are impossible to use for this though.

The only real reason why I use it is because I don't want people to be able to read my pin when I enter it in public. Nobody can easily steal my phone and unlock it that way.

Samsung s5 fingerprint recognition is by far the worst recognition I have ever used in my whole life. It is terrible and got me so angry that I nearly ripped the screen out of my phone. I've seen my friends use their iPhones with no hassle at all though.

I love it on my ipad, it doesn't work so good if my finger is wet though. I used all the 5 profiles on the same finger, maybe that helps too.

    Fingerprint recognition on phones

I've had it activated on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 since I first got the phone over a year ago, and I'm reasonably happy with it. Obviously after I've been playing football or some other sort of strenuous exercise, I'm very sweaty and the liquid means that it won't work. But for the security that it adds (It's less for randoms getting to my phone, and more stopping my roommates from getting into my phone. Below's my general thoughts on it

    Advantages
    • Quick to use, literally just have to slightly slide my finger downwards on the home button. Shorter than a password.
    • Password Backup - if it ever fails on me, I have a password I can use at least.
    • Effective - No-one else has been able to get into my phone in over a year, so the Tech clearly works.

    Disadvantages
    • When I'm wet, it doesn't work. Annoying, but y'know, I shouldn't use a phone when I'm wet anyway.
    • I found that it took a couple of weeks for my phone to learn my fingerprint, and work the first go instead of after a few attempts
    • The main issue I have (Although this is more an issue with my Galaxy in particular), I need to do a small swipe motion to activate the fingerprint scanner. I wish it was more like the iPhones scanner, where you simply have to hold your thumb over the home button without movement.

All in all though, I'm a big fan.

Really? That's very odd as I had the exact opposite experience with the iPhone 5. For the first month or so, my phone worked the first time everytime. After that, it slowly started to not work to where now it will deny my fingerprint 5 times before prompting me for my code.

"if my finger is wet or something my telephone never opens"

wtf it recognizes your finger print, water will obviously create gaps and cause it to not recognize it, what are u expecting?

next i expect "ye this thing sucks didnt recognize my fingerprint after i dipped it in some ketchup"

Its alot better then the samsung galaxy s2's face recognition. That thing would let any bugger with an oval shapped face into my phone. Saying that the s2 is still bae. Iphone 5s's finger scanner seems to be the best as the size of the home button feels just the right size. ps not sure if the size of the home button even differentiates.

I've never had any issues with it on my iPhone 6 plus. Much more convenient than having to type in my pass code every time I want to open my phone.

The Samsung s7 finger print recognition is very good pretty much always 1st time, very helpful when you are too drunk to even type in the password at night.

    Fingerprint recognition on phones

I have an iPhone 6+. I really like that I can just place my finger on the button and the phone is unlocked within a second. No need to type in the pass code every time the phone is locked. Sure having wet hands will not allow the phone to correctly read your fingerprints, but I'm sure my hands aren't wet all the time. Keying in the pass code once in a while isn't too hard for me.
