....The Bible doesn't say money itself is evil.
It's the greed behind people wanting more of it which is dangerous.
It's the greed behind people wanting more of it which is dangerous.
There's one thing that many people are forgetting. So, the general arguement is that Christians are hypocrites because they say they follow the Bible and yet do everything that the Bible tells them not to do.
Well, there's one thing that you're all forgetting. There is no such thing as Christianity any more. Every Christian has been converted to a new religion. This new religion, which is now the most common religion in the world and is worshipped in over 100 countries, is...
CAPITALISM!!!
And the deity in which Capitalists believe is called MONEY!
No Catholic truly believe what he or she preaches because their not really Catholic. The only thing which people believe and understand is money. Our entire world revolves around money. Screw family values. Screw equality. Screw helping an old lady across the street. If there's no money in it, nobody cares! Money is the new God!
And here's the proof: The words "IN GOD WE TRUST" are written on teh U.S $1 bill. That's the God in the U.S.A. Money! Their God is a freaking bank note! And the rest of the world isn't much different.
So when you say that Christians are hypocrites, they're really not. They're Capitalists who pretend to be Christian. So it's no wonder that they go against the teachings of the Bible. They don't even truly believe in the Bible! Maybe if someone slipped a fifty into one of the pages and told them to read it to find the money they might, but, otherewise, they don't truly believe in the Bible or its teachings.
Want more proof? Walk up to a Christian with a Bible in one hand and a fifty dollay bill in the other and ask which one they believe is more useful. I will bet any amount of money that over 90% will choose the money.
So please stop saying that Christians are hypocrites, because you're not really talking about Christians are you? Calling a Christian a Capitalist is very unkind. I'm sure you wouldn't want to be called a bastard. Well, Christians don't like it either. So stop calling them Capitalists and GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!
"Points to Signature"
Lies.No darkgroove. You're trying to twist words to make your old arguement seem plausable.
Indeed, but if you already own one of the choices, its plausible that anyone would take the other choice. How "beneficial" something is is not based on a quantity but on its use.
Who's they? Now, if you were to ask which they would prefer right now, then your arguement is plausible.
#Define:beneficialHowever, that is not the case. The question is which they would find as more beneficial to them, not which they could use right now.
I don't like those impromptu topics they give us, besides my arguments fail. So, I'll probably have to define beneficial by stating that i am using in the context of what people will find more useful in their lives as a whole.
And damn, you should really do debating this year!!!

They're usually sold at a price which enables the organization which printed the Bible to continue doing so.
The problem with people like you is that you seem to think man is more intelligent now than 2000 years ago. That's just stupid. Man may not have been as well-informed as people now, but they weren't stupid.
Many of them were probably more intelligent than you.
I've got 3 bibles, as I've already said. We need more bibles, because there are a lot of Christians, and there will still be more Christians to come.
*I deleted the list because there was quite a few, check the original post for the list*
I meant Gods that people still believe in, dietys is probably a better word to describe what you just listed. Greeks no longer believe in Zeus, and "Romans" or Italians or whatever no longer believe Uranus is a God.
No, the question was, which would they find more beneficial? Not, which they would rather take. I already know that they own a Bible. Everyone has been arguing that for the last year or however long this thread has been going for.
So lrn2read!!!
P.S. lol

1 bible for my confirmation.Having more bibles than one does not get you brownie points with god just so you know.
No, those dieties you listed are brought up because they are from ancient history. People once believed in them.An there are still people that believe in every god there has been. The fact that there names still come up makes them real enough to say they are existent. Even the god you believe to be real is existent by the fact that everyone believes he\she exists if this were to be not true we wouldn't know who\what it is and wouldn't be having this debate. But as for being a real manifestation that is udder nonsense.
a little piece of paper.
But taking the Bible would not benefit me any more because I already have a Bible. That's what Darkgroove's argument is.No darkgroove. You're trying to twist words to make your old arguement seem plausable.

I agree that all Christians are hypocrites. I'm a hypocrite.
If any Christian claims to not be a hypocrite, then they've missed the point of Christianity altogether.
I just think that the original reasoning behind this thread is flawed.

No, fail, capitalism is not a religion.
x⁹;4389158 said:But taking the Bible would not benefit me any more because I already have a Bible. That's what Darkgroove's argument is.
Is that so? Well then, how about we define a religion? A religion is basically a set of moral principles which its followers base their lives around. It also involves powerful, undiputable figure-head head which has the power to totally control a person's life, a figure-head which a believer would quickly bow down to and do anything he or she could for it.
larrytheking said:Also, due to the recent economic boom, which has been put to shame by a global recession, the majority of people in developed countries sat on a comfortable middle or high class, meaning that they enjoyed classes and, therefore, capitalism. In fact, they do so to the point where they ended up destroying the entire world's economy be being greedy and profitting from the inflation of house prices.
larrytheking said:In capitalist societies, people basically bowed down to money. Take my example of more people finding $50 more beneficial than a Bible. Money amde up our lives, money was the sole purpose of our lives and, ultimately, our love for money is destroying us as we speak. People would have given anything for money and, I am certain, that one of many people's greatest fears would be to be poor.
larrytheking said:Now, let us compare this to a religion. Just like with Christianity, people follow a set of principles in a capitalist society. Our lives are based around the principles of capitalism, which is basically to profit. Also, people have come to respect and fear money, just like someone would respect and fear a God. Money controls our lives and so it is our God.
larrytheking said:So, if someone's life is based around money, why can't money be their God and Capitalism be their religion? After all, a religion only depends on people devoting their lives to it. Don't people devote their lives to money. If Big Brother can be a God in "1984", by George Orwell, with Ingsoc as the religion that follows him, why can't Money be a God?
Not that free-market economics would be any better - I'd prefer a Great Recession over another Great DepressionFail. Capitalism did not lead to the current recession/collapse, state interventionism did. What we have now is not free-market economics.
1 bible for my confirmation.
2 educational bibles for school, one was used up to year 9 and the other from 10 up to year 12 (this year)
Get your head out of your ass.
No, those dieties you listed are brought up because they are from ancient history. People once believed in them.
You can get more Zimbabwe dollars by recycling it in america, then taking the cash made from recycling back and converting it back into the original currency![]()

The first bible I had was for my confirmation, besides the one my mum had lying around. It was the Saints edition or something. It doesn't have the notes on the passages that the educational bibles have. I already explained why I needed two educational bibles, the analysis is a lot more in depth in the 10-12 bible. An what was wrong with the first bible you had? It's not like food it don't spoil. and books are convenient there meant to be able to be taken with you.
Also my head isn't in my ass sir
I believe in God, there you go. There's 2.1 billion people that believe in a similar God - Christians. Can you 100% confirm that there isn't a person in the world that does believe in them? No it's the same for your god there is no way to survey every inch of the universe therefor there can't be conclusive evidence one way or another the same for the belief in the deities still.
Just like holiday rares in RS... o noes... fagscape...The reason why you can do that is because the way we as a world have set our economic values on a supply and demand basis. Who is to say gold is worth anything other than it's rare. It's not really used for anything. the same for diamonds they're there to look pretty nothing more.
Because your claiming that because I believe in the same God as someone corrupt or whatever, that makes me corrupt or a hypocrite or whatever. We've used so many words in this conversation, that I don't know what to use anymore.I don't see why people are getting so damn defensive. Every person has or will be a hypocrite at one point or another. Hell if you looked on my old posts you will find numerous accounts of this I'm sure. What I don't understand is why the hell religious people believe they're not.
Not that free-market economics would be any better - I'd prefer a Great Recession over another Great Depression
