Encouraging Others

It should be up to the person asking for advice to decide whether or not to accept the suggestion to "relax man, chill out". It should also be up to them to decide which suggestions are right and which ones are wrong.

I don't think it should be against the rules to suggest the use of a drug. I myself have never offered drugs to someone who doesn't already do them or is unwilling to, but from an idealist point of view, it doesn't seem right seem right to make something like this infraction-worthy.

I really don't care if somebody tells some to relax, but telling them to take a drug that is addictive can potentially ruin someones life.

Marijuana isn't addictive...

It is mentally adictive, not physically addictive.

It's also illegal, which could cause a drastic negative affect on their lives.

I think you're blowing it way out of proportion lol. If it's done in moderation and in the privacy of your own home (or a friend's), the risks are at an absolute minimum.

But there are risks none the less.
Marijuana can in fact ruin your life, of course not large a scale as crack/cocaine can, but even still.
There's a reason marijuana is called the gateway drug.
Again, people suggesting to smoke weed aren't telling them to take it a step further in life, but it is in fact illegal, and for good reason.

If you smoke weed and don't give a shizz, keep doing it, I'm not stopping you, and neither is everybody else.

Support btw.

It doesn't just get posted through your letter box, you have to go out and buy it, that itself is committing a crime. If they ever got caught they could go to prison and it could ruin their life.

Yes I agree the chances are low, but still I would never ever advise someone to take an illegal substance just because I take it and I'm fine.
People get away with murder but it doesn't make it ok to suggest.

The "gateway drug" theories have all been inconclusive. There is no concrete evidence whatsoever that suggests that marijuana is a gateway drug.

Murder and marijuana are two totally different things -_-
That fact that they're both illegal doesn't really make them comparable.

Basically limiting someones freedom of speech,
Just curious, if someone's not suggesting you too smoke weed, or along the lines of that, what difference does it make to you if they suggest it to someone else?
Just wanted to know from your point of view.

Not really...
Murder has no negative effects.. Just like weed.
So obviously from your argument that makes it ok.

I care about peoples well being, you might not give shit about other people besides yourself, bit believe it or not there are people out there who care.

Murder puts an immense psychological strain on the one committing it. The of effects weed are nothing compared to the mental stress that the act of taking the life of another human being puts on you. The average human being probably doesn't even have the inner strength to kill a fellow human.

Here's the reasoning.

If you think that doing any sort of drug is a rational and somewhat reasonable output for every situation in life, then you're aren't capable of the amount of intelligent though enough to support others in their time of dire misdirection.

If, however, one brings it up as a possible relief to pain, I could see the reasoning. Sometimes, illegal or not, drugs are a rational option. It's when the line is far crossed that the differences blur, and the arguments stir.

I agree with shoopa on what he's sayin.
And also, marijuana never fixed any problems, it's just something to help people cope with them. Since when have you ever found somebody saying

"There's a bully at school who keeps beating me up."
"Try taking weed, it takes some of the pain away."
"K I tried weed, I feel much better now thanks, i'll take it whenever he beats me up"

Weed is nothing more than an anti-depressant, or a feel-good substance that lasts all too shortly.
That is the only reason why I neither support or not people using weed, since it doesn't in fact affect other people but themselves. It DOES, however, lower a person's moral standings, which in turn causes other things indirectly (back to the gateway drug thing earlier)

EDIT: I like bladebro's stance on this too
and we're getting off-topic, just letting you guys know before somebody else points this out in the most annoying way possible.

I'm not saying idc about anyone other than myself,
I'm just pointing out, at the end of the day, people are going to say/do what they want, whether it's prohibited or acceptable.
I can understand If people suggesting hard drugs such as meth, crack or heroin etc. can get under your skin, but a simple remark such as "smoke some weed" shouldn't be ban worthy or against the rules for even that matter, again,
This is my personal opinion.

I don't support this one bit. There's nothing wrong with smoking weed..

Maybe you shouldn't encourage some people to do it, but with others, it's a great thing. If I'm depressed, I smoke a blunt, I'm laughing at everything. Telling people to get high when their depressed in my opinion is a good thing. It solves just about everything. I've never had a time where I was being dull/upset and I smoked a blunt and felt nothing but being happy.

It generally also is only a suggestion. Most people that don't smoke it already, are going to go out in the hood, ask some random person for a dub, and smoke it. It's mainly going to people that already do smoke. Just reminding them of that possibility.

Just because something is illegal, doesn't make it wrong.
Smoking cigarettes is legal. It's addictive and actually causes damage.
Drinking is legal. It's addictive and makes you a retard after awhile.

Weed is illegal, it eases pain / stress and it only causes damage if you use certain methods to smoke it. It can also be prescribed by a doctor.

I definitely don't support this thread, doctors prescribe it, why can't members suggest it?

^Best point ever made,
But even if it was to become a rule here on Sythe,
I doubt it'll be followed.

I think this thread should be closed imo. Marijuana is like a nerve stimulant. What's wrong with getting rid of your stress by laying back and smoking some weed? Nothing. It has never killed anyone unlike meth and all that shit. It was made from the ground not manmade. A drug is manmade. So please stop hating on the "Stoners"

Seriously guys? Marijuana doesn't solve any of your problems, it simply covers it up. You might be depressed as fuck because of a relationship, work, or even school. So what do you suggest? Go smoke! Calm down bro!

Well, guess what? Your relationship's still falling apart, you're still working at a dead-end job, and you're still failing school. But hey, I'm glad you feel chill while doing it.

Edit: Just to add some relevance to OP, I agree.
