I'm going to post my math like Busta too. I'm going to be conservative with every calculation.

Assuming all of it was BTC (it wasn't, some should have been exact dollar value from gold) - the absolute high for BTC during the portion of the Raffle, starting at July 21st, was $665. The minimum in tickets was $7.644K

MINIMUM BTC: 11.495

The absolute lowest value of BTC, when it crashed, was $553.

MINIMUM VALUE OF 11.495 BTC: $6355

This is working in extremes. Jon's family should have at the very least $6355 or someone should be getting banned (then DNT.) That's the absolute minimum. In reality it should be closer to the 7.6K figure no matter what, due to RS gold donations, smaller donations at $5 a ticket, and the fact that not all the BTC was bought at highest rate and sold at lowest rate.

 

Im not saying its anyone's fault, but they should've transferred the bitcoins into cash as soon as it was donated. @Grave kill ur self

 

It's a really high fee and the already lost amount would make the amount the family receives even lower. The family would appreciate it without the 7% and if it's possible we should respect their wish.

 

you are wrong. when I donated the 5,000$ we only spoke in "$" terms. not how much bitcoins was donated.

 

Please make sure the amount is at least $6355. This is the lowest amount theoretically possible assuming they took it at highest value and sold it at lowest value. Anything lower, it means more money was lost than just BTC crash that they're blaming it on.

This would be the optimal route. Anyone involved in all the shittily timed everything and conversions, etc. Half can come out of Friday if he wants to at the shitty fucked up rates and fuckups. The other half should be purely at the rate it was donated at

The first error was accepting donations via BTC where you know it can fluctuate. It's not the persons fault that it crashed the next day. It's bad timing and a shitty situation but they shouldnt be held liable for it. Donate it to the damn gofundme and be done with it. The situation is only going to get worse.
