So the article doesn't say how the eel got in there, we'll just have to guess . There are actual reports of snakes and the like being in toilets in some asian countries and going into people's rectums, so thats not an impossible explanation.

Not just in Asia. i've heard reports in the ME and the US, but I can't place them
