Now. In 2006, he created a Dupe, or item creation similar to Xx Jut Xx.

This might sound crazy, but he really did it. Few of you know when you make a Runescape account, Jagex installs 1-3 programs Hidden in your computer, see for yourself.

Go to RUN in the start menu. Open it, type in C:/Windows, Then look for .jagex_file_store_32 and more Jagex related files, Jagex cache files. They put it there so it's hard to find.

Anyways, back to my friend. You might all know about these commands, ::item (whatever number), he has a friend that helped him edit those files. If you check properly, in one of those files, there is something called: rs map.
His friend helped him edit the map and mess with it a little, he made his mini-map and things around him. His friend had an idea, he decided to edit other things. He thought about tracking down Jagex's Ip and sending some commands or something. Well guess what? He did. He sent some things like:

"69.3.156.13 ::item,55,Blue,Partyhat,A nice hat from a cracker."

He did this thing and told my friend and stuff, he duped over 28 santa's in 5 minutes, just because he was having a joy ride. His account was locked since Jagex had caught him, his level 104. His account wasn't banned, but worse, locked. Jagex said he had to pay them 60$ if he ever wanted his account back, what FAGS!
They make over 10M a month.

So now, me and my friend (the one that lost his level 104) are working on creating a dupe. again. We have 4 people working on it. So far I have found some pretty interesting information.

Go to Start menu>Programs>Accesoires>Command Prompt.

When you're in Command Prompt, type in NSLOOKUP and press enter. (in capitals)

Then whichever site's Ip you want to know, you can do it.

I did www.runescape.com, write that down. Then press enter, after, there will be a bunch of IP's if you've done it correctly.

Afterwards, open a new Command Prompt. Write NSLOOKUP.

Now, pick the IP 69.31.104.9 and Enter.

Abracadabra.

Jagex's internet provider is: ip-69-31-104-9.nlayer.net.

I checked the site, it's a real one. I tried tracking down my IP too, it worked.

Congratz, I just taught you something I learned in 2 days (Not including those who already know =P)


Me and my friends "will" create a dupe or hack runescape this way. I guarantee you, we will be known in history, We will send commands. If anyone has any interesting information, please post here. Thank you.

dude, ur hacking the COMPLETELY WRONG WAY!

First, the game is totally server side, so all you could do with those files is make stuff appear differently. The only stuff the client handles is what you type in and where you click.

Then, to do what you are doing, you would need to decompile all of the Java coding, then get a great Java programmer to fill in all the gaps, and find an exploit in the coding then exploit it.

What I would do, is go for the login(when you change pass and stuff) applet. Far less complicated. Then, I would find out the server it uses. Then, create a password cracker around that, and since you are connecting to the server, it will crack a lot faster then a normal passcracker cause they are just reloading a page.

Then, you dont tell anybody, cause Jagex would find out, and stop it.

Then, you go to world 2, north of fally, where phat peeps are. Pick some of them, crack them. Go on a proxy, go to a really low crowded world. Go to a general store where no1 is, wait till some shit dissappears(every minute) then sell the phat from their account to store, go on ur account, and buy it from general store. Log off proxy. Go on ur account, bam you got a phat. Btw, the general store is a great way of doing stuff like that cause it is totally untracable.

1.) You cant send fucking commands like that
2.) The only shit you could do to them when you have their IP is to either ping them, or DDOS them. They have such a big server that a crappy DDOS from your computer wouldn't even register on their bandwidth. Also, you could try a ping of death which would kick them off of the internet for a while and crash their computers........only..........the ping of death only works on unpatched windows 95 machines........i dont think they are running windows 95. Oh yeah, alsom you could with their IP run a port scan, and search for expliots on the open ones, but, wait. They probobly arent stuiped enough to have expliotable ports open. Ok, everything I said about doing shit with their IP address wont work, except a normal ping. WOW!! GREATE!! You can tell how fast their servers respond!!
3.) As I said in number 2, you accually could crash their servers. Its is the only POSSIBLE thing you could do. It wouldn't be easy, but it would be FUN AS HELL. Spread a virus all over the internet the when ran, it turns computers into zombie computers, and downloads "Battle Pong"(sends legal ping sizes really fast, and drains their bandwidth, also, it would have to be legal sizes, cause they have a firewall the blocks anything about the 64k ping size.). The hard part is, you would have to get ONE HELL OF A LOT OF COMPUTERS to match their bandwidth. With battle pong, you can shut down peeps inter net, but you need more bandwidth then them.......which would be kinda hard....

OMFG ANOTHER EDIT:
They have a stealth IP address, any pings they recieve, they dont respond too. Basically, now you cant even kick them off with battle pong. Good luck dude, tell me if their is any holes in my explination that I overlooked that could make this possible.

It won't work unless you know the exact locations and ports of their servers and computers holding the RuneScape database and if you actually crack their database and modify their files you could do some fun shit. But they're security is strong and encrypted.

If you want to "hack" Rune Scape server side, you need an understanding of packets (Information sent from client to server and vice versa). I wrote a small program that modified packets being sent to and from my RS Client. Auto Rune did the same thing, modified packets to and from the client.

Hacking Client side and hacking Server side or 2 totally different arenas. You can modify the client so like SS you can lock map rotations, stop the RS Client from updating colors, ect..

People have already done this. Its easy to obtain the RS server internet protocol if you know what your doing.

Look up packets. Packets are bits of information sent from the client to the server and vice versa, thats how the client and server communicate and send commands to each other.

I have thought of another way of "actually" messing with your runescape character.

If you go to Cambridge and go inside the jagex computer, get andrew gowers password, log on, and change your stats and items XD that would cost more than its worth, but also you could get arrested

If your problem was finding their ip address, you could have just typed nslookup while connected to the game and watch for your outbound connections , no java editing or anything.

If you wanted to modify the client itself, you can use any java decompiler in the wild for that (dj for exemple) (on the official client or on any of the others if it is "scrambled"), but then you'll end up with tons of undocumentated code that even their programmers might have difficulties with.

If you want to dupe an item, people have already found easier methods (just poke around the sythe forums) that seemed to work (with a lot of limitations).


Honestly i couldn't find any logical path in your first post, despite all my efforts to give a hand, nevertheless i keep trying with my previous sentences.

This is completly false

As soon as i read this, i knew this just isn't true:

Jagex would simply not ask for money to unlock an account. Debate me all you like on this point, but its plain and simple. They will not take / ask for money.

Secondly i would like to point out that those files that runescape stores on your computer aren't made when you make a runescape account. They are downloaded when you load a RuneScape world.
If you choose "Unsigned Java", these files are not loaded onto your computer, and that is the reason you have to completly download the game code each time you use unsigned java.

Thirdly, ill just point out that the packets sent from client to server and vice versa are encrypted, so even if it were as simply as sending :item 234 etc it would have to be encrypted.

The more i study that text the more points i find to prove its complete bullshit, anyone here with any knowledge of Java will agree.
