Drug Testing for Welfare.

I don't know if a receipt should be required for ALL of the money, but for the vast majority of it, I agree. Groceries, gas, bill, etc...Of course. If there's like $30 left at the end of the month and they want to buy a game or a book, then by all means they should be entitled to it. Entertainment is good for mental health.

Yes. this would give the receivers more freedom of their purchases, but will also make sure their spending aren't necessary.

 

This should be implemented in the uk, i hate knowing that people don't work, get their monthly rent paid for them and just spend the money the benefits they get on drugs or alcohol and tabacco.

 

If your hitting a crack pipe, do you really think you deserve the freedom to not take a drug test? Whats wrong with the government saving money by not feeding peoples drug habbits.

Drug testing for Welfare is going to happen eventually. (in the US at least)

Considering the amount of debt that the US is in, more focus and scrutiny will be paid on how tax money is used. It is a question of when not if.

 

the reason this is unconstitutional is because humans should have the right being innocent until proven guilty, and being forced to prove your innocent is unconstitutional

If someone is using the money I basically hand them and it's meant to be used to live, I think I have every right to make sure that's what they're using it for. I didn't hand them a portion of my paychecks that I EARNED, so they can lay around and smoke crack.

 

People would just show up, take the money, spend it on drugs, and never come back. Drug addicts don't think logically

 

The Welfare system, like anything run by the government, is run idiotically. People SHOULD have to have drug testing and there should be a 6 month-1 yr max on welfare unles you show that you're trying. Just my thoughts

This is great idea to take drug tests for being eligible for welfare. That's sounds great. No one who works by the way and pays tax would want that some one waste its money in taking drugs.

 

As an occasional user of illicit substances I'm perfectly fine with this.

The government is giving you money. They have the ability to control the terms on which they give it to you. You can make the case that you deserve the money for paying taxes, but consider that the bottom 40% (the ones that usually get wellfare) own 0.2% of the nations wealth, and actually result in a net negative loss in tax revenue for the government.

I've seen so much controversy about this and it's retarded. If you don't want to work and actually make your money, then you should definitely be drug-tested and the state should watch where you are spending your money exactly.

 

Welfare is abused in every part of our country, I personally have known around 100~ people who abuse it. It's not monitored enough. Basically any family with a couple kids can get it, without having a job.. Just being a lazy ass. Illegal immigrants also get welfare and free healthcare.

That's why all the mexicans have their children here, so their children can be american citizens. I "LOL" at what America has become.
