Good. That makes me a bit happier.

Not every single one is, since we're supposedly using the one third rotation system. However, there are very few troops that are not stationed overseas that are not designated to go into Iraq very soon.

You said that your unit is meeting with leaders of banks, etc., and helping them establish good relations with each other.

I never called them war casualties, to my knowledge. If I did, I was mistaken.

Those lives that were lost would not have been lost if we never invaded. Also, in the 2003 invasion, an estimated 100,000 civilian lives were lost.

Yet we do go door to door in certain areas where suspected insurgents are.

Shredderbeam, why are you worried of someone who is fiercely patriotic?

He is a man with values, and had enough courage to be out there risking his balls for someone he doesn't know and maybe doesn't even care for what the fuck he does!Patriotism should be valued, it is something that isn't seen that much in many countries now.Let the soldiers do what they do and give them your damned love. It's christmas time they need someone that cares for them. GrinGo, would I be wrong if I said that the worst enemy a soldier has is their loneliness and depression in some cases?----Yes, I know I am being off-topic but...They do need attention, and support most especially love.

    Don't give 'em problems.
Give 'em something to fight for.
    That's what I say.

Well, I never actually said I was worried. Am I? I think not.

Good for him. Unfortunately, that is irrelevant to the discussion at hand.

"Patriotism is the virtue of the vicious" - Oscar Wilde.

I'll have to disagree with you there.

Yeah, you're right. Emotional appreciation of what the troops do should always take precedence over thinking about whether or not it's necessary.

I'm sure they do. They would be a bit more likely to get it back here, though.

I'm not giving them problems, it's the Administration that I'm arguing with.

You did say that in the first page.

Oscar Wilde..hmm....He was imprisoned for gross indecency. So he might have had some angry feelings towards the government and those that uphold the government.Maybe the cause for him saying that. Or maybe because this was the time right after Napoleon, when patriotism was the weapon Napoleon used to get so many French men killed. So maybe it was just a social critique?

    Oh, I didn't realize.

The thing about patriotism is that it seems to enforce "Us versus Them" mentalities. We're all human, though, and such intense feelings for one's own country are somewhat misguided.

On that we can agree. Would Patriotism be compared to that of the buffalo's her effects? I mean, like Hitler, I think Bush just used the feeling of anger and pointed it in the direction of the Middle East. For what purposes I have no idea.
