Do you Fear Death?

Life-After-Death is what most people are more scared of, death itself dont scare me unless i think about family/friends and death... then i fear it for them.

 

I don't fear death, yet, I'm not dead in a corner.

 

Neither am I. And to imply that fear of death inspires suicidal behavior either needs a TON of effort to support or you [not you, Jordan, but I'm too lazy to quote that] don't deserve to post in SFA. I fear certain things, like snakes - but what about conquering your fears rather than succumbing to them?

I don't fear death, just dieing. In my opinion death would mean being dead not dieing so I don't think it would be bad.

 

Yes, i do probably , because you don't know what happens when you die... wouldn't want to find out.

And meh, I don't fear death or dying - it's not like your fear will PREVENT you from it...why fear the inevitable? Obviously we all commit actions to prevent ourselves from dying sooner, but that doesn't imply fear. That implies lack of desire.

 

Why should I have a fear of something that I can't change or make it not happen, if it's gonna happen anyways, then there is no reason to fear it, just live with it.

 

Yes, I do have that fear but I will have to conquer it some day. Life is too short so live it up now. So when your older you can just relax and live life day by day.

 

I'm sure my post won't be read because it's so far into the thread. But, to tell you the truth i don't. I don't really believe in any religion, i think that's about to change because now i'm dating this strongly enthusiastic Christian girl and i think she's going to turn me into a good little Christian boy, but that's beside the point. I think, if there is a god, that before you were born like before your were even conceived your parents, you were nothing right? You weren't anything, you didn't know what was going on, you didn't know about the past, you weren't born. You were NOTHING, not even the colour black or white. I think it's the same way at death. Now, don't discriminate or anything about that but that's just what i think. I also think he made it so you feel or see or don't remember anything till atleast the age 4 or 5, for like obortion purposes. The Bible never says we can't have sex before marriage, that's why we have Catholics.

 

No I don't fear death, in fact no one fears death because no one has experienced it and lived to tell about it.
However, people fear the IDEA of death, because they don't know what will happen/they've been taught that it is scary

 

This is quite a good point, albeit relatively obvious. I feel like this question of "Do you fear death?" is subject to interpretation - what is it really asking? Do we fear death itself, like literally BEING dead? Do we fear the consequences of our death (like who gets harmed by it)? Or do we fear the process of dying that everyone will undergo?

you can't escape death, its in-escape-able, its going to happen sooner or later.
You can't be afraid while dieing or you wont be in peace when you die..
which is never good.

No, why would i fear death, we all will die, and more humans will be born. and they will die aswell, As long as its not painful, im ready for it.

well there are times when i feel like dying, and there other times im happy to live and never want to die. so my answer was yes.

 

You can't speak for humanity. Also, people have been rendered dead, and then revived by doctors, ect.

It's a fear of the unknown. Fearing the IDEA of death is pretty much fearing DEATH.

You can't fear death in the way you're implying, because death isn't exactly tangible.

 

I do fear death, but I do not fear life after death. I would love to die, but at the same time I would hate it. Dieing would bring me to eternal joy with my savior, but at the same time leave my friends and family in a state of sorrow. I would also feel that I haven't completed my purpose yet (at the age I am at) , but that would obviously not be the case. Since God would not take me before he saw the time was fit. I fear as do all people. If you say you do not fear death I believe you are either misinformed or mislead. Because if you are unsaved and do not fear death you are EXTREMELY mislead. You will spend eternity in hell. I am scared of death not because of the fact that I don't want to die but that I will leave behind so many unsaved. I am at this moment in time trying to commit my life to the saving of others. I am trying to be the biggest witness for Christ I possibly can because I fear for your deaths FAR more then I fear for my own. I hope the vast majority of you come to know Christ if you don't already.

I fear death more for you then I do for myself.
