divorced..happilly married.

My parents are married.

However, I see no point in such a ceremony. What happens is a lot of money is spent so a bunch of people can gather together, two of which say vows at an altar and kiss. It's a serious waste of money.

Divorced

Both my parents are OK but they have their moments..

Modern society has completely lost the understanding of what marriage really is. People marry with just the good times in mind. People need to learn that there are going to be hard times and you just need to work through them.

But hell, I'm not married but I know from a long family history of 50+ year marriages.

So what is the point of spending thousands and thousands of dollars in hard-earned money for a single ceremony? Most ceremonies are pointless, this is no exception. If I had a choice between money and marriage, the former is my choice, and will get me further in the end.

I don't really know what the big deal about love is, but from my understanding Marriage shouldn't matter. If you really care about someone, that should be it - No pointless ceremonies are required, from whichever point of view. I don't intend on getting married, so if there was a topic called "Are YOU married or divorced?" I would not be able to take part in it.

Nonetheless, divorce isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Thats because you are a very selfish person.
I've concluded that the only person I truly and meaningfully care about is myself.

It's not about the money, it's about making memories with friends, families, and your loved ones(which of course you could do with out having a marriage). Personally I hate money, it brings greed and curuption, and a false sense of happiness.

I agree with this part of your post, the only reason most rich white stuck-up americans get married is because they have the money to spare. Obviously you have never been in love though, and if so, you have no understanding.

my parents have been married for 25 years, happily, never any arguments or anything :D

Indeed.

Though money is the factor which drives the economy. We may be lured in to a false sense of "happiness", but without it we wouldn't be happy anyway.

Anyhow, even if I were to have a relationship with someone (highly unlikely, taking in to account my viewpoint on the subject), I would never get married. It is just a waste.

My parents have been married for about 16 years now I believe, they fight all the time, my dad has a good job, supports our family, brings home the bread, but also is an asshole 99% of the time, but he can be nice, when he was on meds he was the nicest person..but now he refuses to take them, but w\e. My mom has her moments, she can be a huge bitch, like bad, worst then most.. but I love my parents, they take care of me, but now that I have a job, they can spend more time together and go out more. My mooch brother, w hos 17, 18 in January starts his job Monday..I'm 15, 16 in august hence the "8 22 92" in my user, that my d.o.b lol. But I could say they're married, but in a long term fight, they were separated when I was younger for 6 months, but they got back.
