Discord Integration! =]

I think it will work out well to have onsite integration for it. Every time I've gone into it otherwise, I haven't really seen many people on it or using it at all, so hopefully its integration will help bring up the participation with it.

 

In 2010-2011 I used the IRC so much more than the forum itself but Discord gets spammed so much. IRC was way simpler and I'd use one if we get one. (off-site not that Sythechat shit)

 

These are my sentiments at this point, want more information before I form an opinion

 

Just an update Jack, I also did some sigging on this and found out that here: Suggested Addon: Discord Integration.

There are some plugin devs finishing up a new XenForo plugin for integration. Seems the original link I gave consisted of plugin devs that were lazy as hell.

This is good news because this means that we will see a full overview of this soon.

 

Personally I've used Discord once and I wasn't a big fan, however I have seen Teamspeaks slowly moving to discord and I believe it will help members communicate with each other so hopefully this gets implemented. #Support

 

Awesome! Well thank you for the support I have to say I think Discord trumps TS in terms of viability, Plus you have the Open API now which is awesome as well.

 

Kinda hard to give any opinion when you don't know what it's gonna look like. But if it works and the functionality of Discord isn't hurt then I'm all for it.

 

I agree. I was under the inital impression that screenies were somewhere available. The public release should be very soon. I apologize for not realizing this in advance to all staff

If we integrate some form of live textchat I'd want it to be discord. Currently I'm watching both Skype and Discord for messages. A third medium of communication would just be too much imo. I think a link to the discord with a "Come talk to the community" or something like that would be great. Open it to guests and everyone so they can chat without needing a Sythe account (hopefully we can draw in more people to create accounts this way).

 

Yeah it will integrate the current server and plug into the layout. It can be guest enabled and runs just like the server does now.
