Or perhaps they had a good reason for denying him? I got OMM in what, 2 months and I've never been a staff member.

If someone's denied it's for a good reason.

Regarding a different application for staff, why? Staff are regular users who help out the community and do mod logs. They are trusted enough to be staff and therefor find trades easier.

Shouldn't be OMMs? Do you honestly think all staff does is lock threads? They're people, not robots.

What unfair advantage? From what I've seen, a large part of the biased Sythe has been expelled from this site.

This^

Edit: One last thing, no one deserves anything.

You're a 2007 member, I can honestly say the days I used to lurk sythe back then were different, disagree if you feel its necessary.

Or my attitude changed >_>. Anybody around at the time can see the difference.

Could be the case... I doubt that people suddenly trusted you enough to be an OMM now that you can fake a different attitude for a few months though. People don't change, but thats off-topic, a section where an OMM will most likely be arising now that Malaka got staff...

And back on topic, I think you deserved OMM prior to getting staff, but apparently attitude is everything, even with 800 vouches, if you don't have a good attitude or you aren't good at kissing ass(the kissing ass is out of your e-book on how to get staff that I purchased).

I have to agree with Tmoe; no one deserves anything, but I do think that if TBT were staff he would have been OMM ages ago.

This statement is more truthful than anything else in this thread.

and Superman imo is one of the most community-oriented users, so he deserves OMM too.

Superman is like 15, he has nothing better to do. I'm not sure how that makes him an OMM though.

From what I can tell, you're complaining about not receiving a rank for a service you should be performing for the greater good of the community. Are you only MM'ing for the rank? The satisfaction of helping members have successful trades should be enough. Of course the rank looks nice, but you'll receive it when the staff decide you've earned it.

The only suggestion I support is the 3rd one.

The fact that he's applying for OMM to benefit the community more than to benefit himself helped him.
Also, if you look at an old thread (not quite sure where it is), where DK'ing was complaining about his 3rd OMM denial, some staff members who voted on his application commented that they did value community activity.

And to answer your question, it doesn't make him an OMM, it makes him staff, which in turn leads to OMM :P

(But really, it doesn't make him OMM by itself. The combination of his trust, his activity, his general character/posts, and his general attitude make him OMM)

I MM for the rank, is that wrong? I wan't to put it in my threads for selling accounts so I can charge 100x more for them like Snow Patrol can.

And that's why you haven't been accepted lol

Snow Patrol's rank has nothing to do with what he charges. He charges for what he thinks is fair for the value of the account. I can guarantee that if he didn't have OMM, but he still had his 500+ vouches, the prices would be similar/the same.

EDIT:
And to above: The staff members have earned their staff positions. Regardless, I still think it's not unfair to give them a slight advantage, if so, because of the time and work they put into the community.

Haven't even applied, but Superman was charging for MMing before he got OMM so I'm going to laugh at the fact that you think he did it for the community.

If you haven't even tried applying, why are you whining about it?

Most likely, but if I had staff and OMM with 1 vouch, I could charge as much as him.

I have to contrast this statement with this one:

Absurd.. Limiting staff to make money off this site is unfair.

So this 'to help the community' stuff is a little askew of the actual point of being an OMM.

Edit: Not taking side, but pointing out facts.

Don't get me wrong, and I've told this to staff before. But I want OMM rank for a simple SIMPLE reason, people trust you bigger trades.

Yes, my ideal is too help, doesn't MM of the year, #2 most replied MM thread and Top 5 viewed show it? Doesn't the fact that I am free show it?

OMM is not the rank, is the added trust that I would like to have so I can MM more. I've been denied before even for 50M trades just for not having that "rank"

Personally I think staff's job isn't to make money... I don't think being staff should benefit them in doing so either.

If you charged as much as someone with 500 vouches, without any vouches yourself, who do you think users would choose?

Its unfair to other members, this is how you can tell I'm not complaining without reason like R2Pleasent does. It doesn't even directly affect me.

Excellent tactic

Firstly, I'm not sure "trust" had anything to do with the denial of Cosrob's previous OMM applications. Like he said, it might be attitude, community activity, etc. People do change...

OMM are the highest middlemen bestowed on Sythe, obviously they aren't going to pick trolls, people with attitude problems, etc. Attitude isn't everything, do you think if someone had a poor OMM application, and great attitude they would be accepted?

Superman is like 15, he has nothing better to do. I'm not sure how that makes him an OMM though.

Lol, what? Superman is a great guy, and his age has nothing to do with this. He completed his OMM application, which I think was strong; had hundreds of vouches, great attitude, very community-oriented, etc.

Who cares if I'm a 2007 member.. My application didn't go through until March of 2010.

O and regarding Cosjob, he was "involved" in tinychat with Syed/Justin/Myself etc. that's probably why he wasn't accepted.

My point is that OMM is not so much a measure of trust, but it is more like a "milestone" on the trust range that you have to work to achieve. You could charge as much as him, but having OMM almost substitutes itself for however many vouches are usually needed to achieve OMM.

I have to contrast this statement with this one:

I, myself, personally MM to help out the community, but only whenever I have time. I just charge so I do not constantly get requests, and whenever someone begs me to MM for them, and I can't, I just tell them I charge. The truth is that I do MM for free occasionally, even when I say I charge on my thread.

Anybody has a right to charge for their OMM'ing service, think of how many requests Superman would get, being an active staff member, and trusted OMM if he was free. He would get a shitload of requests, and he couldn't keep up with all of them.
Charging is a way, not really to make profit, but to keep requests in line and to a manageable size. (At least for me).

I've never seen you make a post that isn't 110% supporting anyone with power above you, therefore I barely value your opinion, no offence, I think you're a kiss-ass.

It's like anything you do in life, you move up in the ranks, one bad move you're straight back down again. . But I've read all the posts on here, and I believe you would only get chosen/declined if there was a validated reason behind it all.
