[DENIED] Sythe Weekly? Newspaper! suggestion

I'd like to apologize for my previous suggestion, it was ignorant, immature and not funny.
However I do think this suggestion could contribute to Sythe.

I would like to suggest a recurring Sythe newspaper, including weekly? updates on for example notable members banned/notable situations on sythe happend, interviews with (prominent?) sythe members, small contest/ puzzles, etc etc, enough I could think of.
This would be 100% made on a volunteerly base and no extra benefits would be gained other then providing something nice for the community.
It would be a nice read and I think a small team (volunteering myself xD) could really make something nice.

I think it could be weekly? but would love to hear other input

 

This reminds me of the newsletter I had growing up in school. It was the cutest thing ever and i've only had fond memories of it. Now when it comes to Sythe though, i'm not so sure. When we're talking notable banned people I immediately start thinking about reputable people that almost everyone knows or at least recognizes that scams and not many come to mind so it wouldn't be that great to do a weekly thing on it.

I'm torn on it because I grew up loving this but keep in mind I was in grade school at the time so it "fit" the circumstances we were all in and it was nice. It seems like a lot of effort for possibly a low turnout. Do you plan on getting people to sponsor it? Would it then just become what CDT does currently with events? I just don't think there is "enough" happening on Sythe that would warrant a newspaper that people would care about. Just my opinion/thoughts on it anyways

 

Make it an automatic delivery to user's emails and charge merchants to advertise in the newsletter.

Don't forget to pay my fee of 10% revenue for this suggestion @Sythe

 

It’s a cool idea if there was enough bandwidth to support it. I’m just not sure it would be worth the time it would take to do it right. I mean man, this would take A LOT of work, and for what really? Would be nice to have something that highlighted important happenings for that week, etc. It might be more feasible on a monthly basis. Just not sure if enough goes on to really warrant it. Curious to hear other people’s opinions.

"noone would do this for free" - if it got enough traction (views), i'm sure you could get some sort of sponsorship compensation for your time.

Good idea. I'd like a tl:dr to glance over every week. I'm sure a lot of semi/inactive members would like to keep up to date too.

^ This already exists and there's no news to report every week or whatever. Although some kind of newspaper which states every week how many and which users have biten the dust - because they have no balls to rob someone IRL - would be fun to read.

 

You mean just stats of that? nothing added for fun/educational purpose?

 

Seems cool. Maybe a one-two page max document with a little runescape/sythe related quiz in the bottom. Maybe something for the @CDT to organise support

 

Would be a very large amount of work and there isn't something on Sythe that goes on every-week that is worth the effort to report. I think that the current BiMonthly news report is doing the job just fine.

 

There used to be something called Sythe Monthly done by the CDT. I thought these threads were very well made. If the CDT is up to do it again, then I'll approve the suggestion.
