I don’t see anything wrong with this. I doubt it’ll prevent anyone from actually doing it, but some preventative measures can’t hurt.

This should be polled, seems to have garnered significant community support.

I support this. nobody should not be allowed to dox any individual at any time of life. Let alone we are all apart of a market against the rules of jagex and scamming is common in the place we are at. I've already been scammed 2 times within 4 deals and would not consider taking any further action to that person as i myself decided to put myself in that situation. We all take risks but taking it any further to leak people's life's online is ludicrous

Didn't read all the comments but isn't this already the case? If I saw someone leaking someone's dox or whatever I'd remove it, no matter who it is.
No, it’s not. The rules currently allow banned users/people without an account to be harassed.

Still wondering why this hasn’t been seriously addressed yet with so much support :(

Currently if an individual is banned or not a member of Sythe, it is perfectly fine to do a fair amount of damage to them, both financially and personally. It is not against the rules to do numerous things to individuals who are banned, or not a member of Sythe such as doxing and tweeting their runescape accounts at Jagex. I'm sure there are other things we're currently given a free pass to do, however these are the two most common that come to mind.

I shouldn't have to explain why this is highly unethical. The only counter argument I can see that holds some ground is that by releasing the personal information of a scammer, it can help prevent them ban evading and scamming once again. This is a fair point, however I feel it is above and beyond our duty to find their personal information and leak it. Banned member or not, I don't feel as if it's okay to be able to leak IRL information of a person for any reason.

I spoke to a few people about this, and the general consensus was agreement. However, I'd like to get some more feedback on this, and possibly change the rules.

TLDR: Make it against the rules to leak information/dox/tweet/whatever else of individuals who are banned or not a member of Sythe

I understand there's the ethical element to it. But some scammers forego that right when they commit really shitty crimes. Here's a good example.

This scammer, donated $100 to Sythe, which in turned cause people to (wrongfully) trust him, got away with 1B OSGP, that roughly equals $850-900.

Inveterate took me for 1b 07

Supporting information for the ban report on Inveterate

People like this deserve to be exposed. You're failing to see it from the perspective of the party at loss, imagine getting hard done for $900 cash. That must hurt.

I don't know how I feel about this. Hypothetically this rule could act as a shield for banned users to do whatever they want with no fear of retaliation from the victims. Like if that Peaceful guy from page 1, who seems like an asshole, tweets your RSN's for the next 5 years and you can't do the same to him to get him to back off.

On the other hand doxing is just a shitty thing that can temporarily or permanently ruin lives. I don't care too much about that, but it often involves family members being dragged into their son/husband/father/etc.'s stupidity which is fucked up

So I like the idea of getting rid of the doxing shit but I'm against giving scumbags the power and protection to endlessly abuse sythe users because of a privilege they didn't earn but were given out of sympathy

The point of this is to discourage people from engaging in that activity altogether. It breeds a toxic environment and it's kinda baffling that I can sit and tweet someones accs just because they're not on Sythe.org, but if they signup without me knowing then I could get banned for that instantly.

If it's not okay to do to someone on Sythe, why is it okay if they're not on Sythe?
Because it's outside of Sythe's jurisdiction. They're not protected by the community because they're not a member of the community. It doesn't matter what your intentions are when suggesting rule reform. What matters is what will come of the new rule. Until the scenario I mentioned in an earlier post (below) is acknowledged and prevented by this proposed new rule it cannot go into effect in my opinion.

As much as everyone seems to be fighting @Milotic this is very unethical, who cares if they scammed out of site, or got banned, or aren't even a member SYTHE has rules that you are to abide for. Doxxing someone does break those rules, I don't get why people don't understand that. And also it is sad that this thread is still running IMO a mod should have looked at this and tried to find closure. @Champ @Void @Wortel @King @Panda
