the person who is involved in doxing/scamming/tweeting jmods is just as bad as the person getting banned

 

I support this.

While the banned user in question may have done some terrible shit, doxing and attempting to damage them in any other way is highly unethical imo. I believe that victims seeking repayment should do what they can to recover their property, however that does not constitute seeking to damage a persons life. Just my two cents.

Because I don't support all this doxing/release of personal information, just because the member is banned.

I've been on this forum for 8 years and never ever in my 8 years at this forum, this has been allowed, simply because it's not the way to punish scammers or to scare them.

This is not the path Sythe wanna go. Never has been and probably never will. If you want to see this, then you should register up at Hackforums.

I agree that people who aren't members of sythe shouldn't be doxed unless it is proven that person is a threat to the community.

People who do scam though shouldn't be provided the same level of security as those who use sythe with good intentions. In my opinion, any and all information that could prevent a scam in the future should be allowed to be attached to a report once the final decision to ban has been made.

Information such as the below can be very important in preventing future scams:

Name:
Payment details (W/U, PP, Crypto Wallet Addresses, and RSNs):
Contact details (Skype, discord, email and any profiles connected to this information.):

I've recovered scammed funds in the past simply by using the scammer's skype/ paypal email to dig up information through twitter, facebook and youtube. I never posted it publicly but simply telling the person I would had a great influence in their decision to return the money. Maybe it just needs to be more known that you can be doxed if you scam?

Yes support because it would mean they would return in the future if they wanted to be in the community again.

I'm not saying this necessarily is going to make me not agree with what you have to say, however it takes a real life scum ball to do a virtual crime not just some nerdy young kid is going to make off with a "heist" from somebody that has the capability to produce something "heistable." I read a law for Connecticut after somebody from the clan Im in had scammed a large amount of gp, that virtual crime is punishable by law. Under $5000 dollars is a misdemeanor, over $5000 dollars is punishable up to 5 years in prison and a fine, and over $10000 dollars is a heavier sentence and larger fine. RSGP is considered to carry an accepted value of about 1 dollar for 1M oldschool and 16 cents for 1M RS3. If someone were to scam a large amount like that I know that at least in Connecticut you can be punished by the law in real life for virtual crime. There was a similar law for other places as well, but who knows if there is any federal or national laws for the U.S or elsewhere.

Edit: The law specifically references video game items to be protected by that law if they're considered to carry value
