[DENIED] Recent ban-Learned Sythe needs changed

@King recenetly insta-banned me once he found my account was logged in from a different IP, he made no contact with me prior or after the ban for that matter just banned and that is all I have heard from him. Fair enough, this policy may or may not be changed I at least see its purpose.

Now I am forced to go through hurdles to prove who I am. The questions are way too intrusive for someone who has all the credentials to their account. The account recovery absolutely not include a personal ID that is how identity theft happens. Furthermore, I found out the database has already been leaked once so now hackers have information to all the people trying to prove themselves.

Sythe change your account recovery process to not include personal ID.

 

No support, the recovery system is perfect as is and history has proven it’s better being safe than sorry. If you truly are the account owner you shouldn’t mind proving your identity. You’re lucky you only got a DNT.

 

I'm lucky i only got a DNT for logging in to my own account but on a different IP? are you mad? I dont mind proving that I am the original owner, but providing a personal ID is overboard.

 

Data was leaked you said it yourself which means any random could be on your account and not actual OO. If you cant provide ID with your irl name on it and everything else blocked out then stay dnt.

I'm on the verge, but I figured I would try to fix something on my way out so future users do not go through my same experience. Also isn't this a suggestion place am I not suppose to make suggestions ?

 

I am not mad. I am referring to previous users who were banned after they were hacked.

Question is.. let’s say you are the original owner, but your account gets hacked later on and the hacker scams a bunch of money with your account. Your account is your responsibility, so you’ll need to repay this. You wouldn’t mind paying this back?

 

There's something called KYC and almost every site uses it to its own convenience to protect themselves, and on this case it's to protect hundred of users who make a living here.

If you feel unsafe providing something simple as your ID then leave internet.

You're exactly right, problem is there are so many scammers on sythe so they feel obligated to make my account their responsibility.

No support. Youre not obligated to provide an unredacted copy of your ID, just block out everything but the name. Assuming this name matches the one in your email, which staff seem to think it should, you’re in the clear. Just having access to said email doesn’t prove your legitimacy. Emails can also be hacked, and you could share the same password there as well.

It’s not JUST that you logged in from a different IP, it’s that you did so after a long bout of inactivity. You know this, so phrasing your current situation like this is misleading.

 

So where'd you buy your Sythe account at?

I just highly doubt someone makes all this ruckus over submitting an ID and just happen to be active after 9 years.

Why would i buy an account with 15 posts on it? So have you never not logged into an account for a very long time? Were you required to provide ID even if you had all the proper credentials ?

 

You see, you're missing the point. It's not about the post count, it's about the join date. Post count can be risen from 16 -> 100+ each day, you get 1k posts and you look like a long-term vet who has a great knowledge of the community. It's easily done, and your ignorance to that is rather concerning.

You obviously don't have the proper credentials. Why're you so scared to provide ID when its simply a name with everything edited out? That's also very concerning.

No, because I've been active throughout my time on here. I didn't take a 9 year random break as yourself, and suddenly return.

You're missing the point, not me. How can you not see how important it is to verify these things? How hard is it for you to understand that people sell Sythe accounts with join dates from right around the time your account popped up? You do realize that this has happened A LOT recently?

Imo, you bought this Sythe account and you got DNT'd. You're upset because the money you spent is now a waste.

No Support... and honestly this is all just getting blowed out of proportion... Its safety no matter how you look at it. If you dont want to provide YOUR ID with EVERYTHING BLOCKED OUT BUT YOUR NAME. then idk what to tell you. You might think its stupid, but it honestly has saved alot of people in the past.

 

Your response speaks volume to what has happened to the community since I left... It's sad really that even with my password and my ability verify my email my name I am still being labled as a scammer... The whole community is now labeling me as a scammer because I will not provide my ID. mind blown.

 

You realise there are probably thousands of people in the world with your name and last name? I’m talking identical. Block out the rest of your information and send it to them. If you don’t trust mods with this, PM an administrator and ask them to keep it private to admin only.

Refusing to do this just shows you are not who you say you are. You can also show a phone bill, electricity bill,..

I understand where you’re coming from and so does everyone else, but you have to understand their point of view as sell. Why would they risk it for you or anyone else for that matter?

If you don’t care about it, make a new account. Plain and simple.

 

I tried pming it to an administrator rather than posting on forum, but I was told it must be posted on forum... It looks like my suggestion to remove sharing a personal ID is being rejected by majority of the community. Please lock thread, also just an update I have posted my case with an id with everything blocked out but my name still waiting to hear back.
