[DENIED] Creating a SF sections for Sythe Official Discord

I don’t think the whole discord should be considered SF, as newcomers come into the market & they want to engage in the community, one of best ways is to join the discord.
With that being said, as soon as they enter & are bombarded with negativity/trolling is just not right. It will lead to a negative perception of what they site really represents, which is an engaging forum / community that conducts business & protects again scammers.

As @dropperz said in another suggestion thread.

I agree with Dropperz here, there needs to be a #toxic channel, there I no need for the entirety of the discord to be considered SF.


As of right now the main chat where the most communication happens is under “Sythe” once again this is misrepresenting what Sythe.org is about & should be changed to “General” & there should be a “Toxic or SF channel”

I agree though, there should be a separate SF channel rather than "General" being it.

 

There was once a point where channels for discussions of various different topics were added such as politics & religion amongst others, But this resulted in nothing but spam/shitposting.

That quote from Dropperz in OP seems reasonable, although I disagree with having to tell someone to stop on multiple occasions (Personally, I'd say once should be sufficient.) The toxicity seems to come and go, usually when there's an event that has happened on site is when the discord gets actively toxic.

In general though, aside from the past week, the discord has been a lot calmer/welcoming than ever.

 

No support. This was attempted and failed, withdrew a lot of inactivity from the discord.

 

It's as simple as creating one channel - the channel you're directed to when you join the invite link, and in this channel Flaming and harassment are not welcome, go one channel down and feel free to say what you want to say. There is no reason this should decrease activity in the discord.

We are not taking anything away from anyone, we are just cleaning it up.

 

We've done this time and time again. It either is dead or its 100% of the chat anyway and it makes the main channel dead. Either way you're creating a new dead channel. Pointless, which we've seen over and over.

 

I’d honestly just modify the #sythe channel rules. It shouldn’t be considered spam forum, atleast not the kind of toxicity that was going on yesterday.

 

I will go for support here. There should be a separate channel for toxic stuff. Personally, I immediately left sythe discord server when I saw it was just spam forum 2.0.

There are still a few other channels that are active and non SF. (crypto, programming, misc, health and fitness, anime)

 

Iirc #sythe is where you're directed when you enter the chat. That chat doesn't exactly leave a good impression. If there's a general chat which I've missed then I'll withdraw support. If not, then a general chat should be implemented.

 

You are correct. This is where you will enter when you verify with ShinBot. It says at the top of the channel that is is Spam Forum but here's an easy solution;

Why don't we just add to the text that ShinBot displays when asking for your sythe token saying what to expect? I'm sure with some thought it could be worded correctly.

 

That could work, but it wouldn't be a good representation of the sythe community as a whole (even with numerous disclaimers). My suggestion would be to direct them elsewhere or make a new channel and direct them there.

 

Yeah my activity on the discord channel has dipped because i don't care for constant toxic spam. A vote kick function would be good, but a long shot.

But no support, its either a spam forum or not, experience tells us we can't have both.

 

Denied, we've tried this many times before and it hasn't worked.

We'll be clarifying and updating some rules to improve the Discord experience.
