I made a bunch of mistakes when I started. If anyone is thinking of playing you might as well read through this article about Cryptokitties Strategy.

Remember guys the cat prices are still falling and ETH price is still rising. You can check https://catstats.io to see average prices. It looks like they have begun leveling off around ~1.5 ETH for the past few days. Who knows if people will continue to buy Gen0's or if the price will drop further.

 

The problem with the game is in the economics. Nothing maintains value because even the rarest traits are fairly easy to replicate. Gen 0's get released every 15 minutes, sometimes with brand new attributes which are quickly bred and sold at decreasing prices.

The developers failed to realize that scarcity and value are crucial to the game's longterm success. No one gives a shit about their crypto kitty. But if they had set the game up in a way where the supply and demand were in balance, and some kitties actually increased in price, then they would have made a much stronger impact. Instead of being the Bitcoin of Ethereum collectible games, they're going to be the MySpace.

 

actually, if you hold the gen 0. they will go up in price as there is a limited amount of gen 0 being released in total. so now, they are cheap, but in the longrun, its a good placeholder if the game doesn't die out.

 

So whats the point of this game? I read the FAQ and couldn't understand. You just collect cats and sell them? but what do they do?

 

Yeah and they are classed by Gens and get more expensive as you go

The Eth price flucutate's alot. If your going for profit. Might be not worth.
