I like the newsletter but I agree weekly is hard. What happened to the SytheMonthly? Havent seen one since December? If that doesn't exist anymore I definitely would like to see it back. Also, I don't think a banner is too much since you'd only have it there when the event is up. Once again though, this is completely something that would have to be worked out with admin I'm guessing since they only have limited banner space used for advertising.

 

No one has any say in this, like I said its been suggested and approved all around. Ultimately its up to Sythe and Matthew though, which I've PM'd but never received a response.

Already adding this to SM, people will be able to subscribe via PM and email.

I wouldn't mind it, but I don't have any huge interest in this since it isn't really a community thing.

Already part of member of the month, which I don't really have a part of. Hopefully it'll get back going again.

You could organize this yourself. Find a sponsor and do it!

 

A banner where the advertisements are won't happen. There will be a SM for March and every month after, I'm organizing it myself.

 

Ofcourse the "entire" group agreed on it, since the sole reason of actually joining the group is to seek attention from upper staff to maybe, just maybe have a shot at being promoted.

As for feedback? about what?
every event is exactly the same, festive seasons consist of a hide and seek, drawing, something related to dicing and a random event (singing, answering a quiz etc) for points to get a chance to win the *grand prize* hosted by a gold mercher that's looking for free advertisement.

Don't know how much fucking randoms there even is in the group, but it's just a clusterfuck of idiots trying to do something one person can manage.

There shouldn't be a rank because it is literally a popularity contest to get in and once you are in you don't have to do anything and honestly it seems like the group doesn't do anything other than a random event that seems like it was thrown together in a couple minutes.

 

People involved said yes. A poll was posted about it publicly which had a lot of responses which also got a yes.

Events, Tournaments, Sythe Monthly, Member of the month, sythe awards, to name a few.

If you have any actual suggestions feel free to give them.

Its called a sponsorship, they provide a prize in exchange for their banner on the thread.

There really is quite a bit of work that needs to be done, I've spent hours trying to pull stuff together. Plenty of things work better with suggestions/opinions/contributions from various people.

Just to add to DD's post, I think we (or at least some of us) recognize this as a problem. We're looking for new contests all the time, so even if you have something totally random come to mind, feel free to post it/let one of us know and we can try to make it into something fun and interesting. For example, how much do you guys want events to pertain to stuff related to the site? I think a lot of events have been sythe-centered when I'm not sure if they need to be anymore. Perhaps something more far-reaching would actually be more engaging.

And yeah, getting prizes can be complicated. The ideal would be some sort of cash (and/or minirank/funrank? idk) prize for a whole bunch of people involved, but it's tough to get people to give straight up cash. Again, if you can think of a better way to solicit these things, feel free to let us know. (Not trying to be passive-aggressive; seriously, if you have ideas, let us know lol).

And generally speaking, I feel like there's a lot of CDT backlog right now. There's a sizable to-do list, and I think the first step, for now, is getting new members involved. I guess the idea is new people = more activity = more ideas = more hands = more events = more community-oriented CDT = good for everyone, but the first step in that is somewhat slow...

i find it amusing that both of you didn't reply to my first sentence, because both of you (and more of the group) are Wannabe-staff.

 

What would you like to see become more transparent? Other than some event stuff most of it is public information.

If its such a huge popularity contest how do you figure I'm in it? What would be more appropriate than a vote? The people that got purged were all seriously inactive.

First day joining the cdt I'd just like to give feedback to members who we previously a part.


Alot goes on behind the scenes and alot of suggestions from what I can see are brought to the table. Good job to all looking forward to being a part of the team.

 

Now that our Easter events are starting to wrap up, looking for all feedback on them.

 

How many submissions did you get for the baking thing? I suppose it wasn't bad as an extra thing, but from last check there weren't many submissions, which wasn't good.

I liked the game as a simple alternative to the scavenger hunt where there were no additional prizes.

I like the scavenger hunt, minus 2 questions which a lot of people were hung up on. I think the ideal time you want to make people take on it is ~1-2 hours...so I'm not sure if you guys already do this, but give it to someone to test on before releasing it. Heard some people spent hours and hours without finding the last couple. Also, I don't think the rewards were ideal given the time spent.

 

Total of 5 entries in the baking contest. (not including a pot of mac and cheese somebody tried to send in)

Some of had plans for a point based system off of the events where you would have to participate in 2 of the 3 events to receive a minirank, But There were some miscommunications at the end. We decided it would be best to have something different from the scavenger hunt (especially with how hard this one was!). You still had the possibility of winning the cash from the egg hunt, or prizeboxes from baking

Thanks for the feedback! From previous events we have received alot of feedback from the community that the scavenger hunts were too easy, so we decided to make this one a bit harder. As for the prizes, before we host an event we contact large gold sellers, or anybody who would like to pay for advertising space on our threads.

 

Tbh I spent like 3 hours on the event and only 4 was found. I stopped for a week because the amount of time I was putting in the event was just ridiculous. I was sad to abandon cause I didnt want to lose 3h of work so I tried again after a few days and succeeded to find all of them.

However, if I knew how much time It would of take at the start, I would of probably not participate. The prizes arent worth hours of cLicking on stickies lol The event was just too long for me. It was fun at the start but when youre stuck and you have to click every thread for hours... Its Less fun.

I would suggest quick and fun events. The easter game was way more fun and I didnt mind participating.

PS: Im not saying it wasnt fun at all CDT, you guys did a great work and I really appreciate it

Just remember that events can be simple but fun!

Hey guys, This information will be released in Aprils edition of sythe monthly.

 

Whats your opinions on in-game events? Such as a duel tournament or LoL 1v1 tournament? I feel it'd make a nice change from the current events.
