Community Development Team - Rank?

These two are going to be the primary friction points. If these can actually be regulated well, then it may not turn into a rank-chaser program.

It will but that's the whole point. It will get people to do work that they would not have otherwise done because they want a rank. There isn't any harm in that as long as expectations are clear.

People need to see that while there is a negative to the rank, which is some members just apply to feel honoured and feel as if they have some level of power, it needs to be seen that regardless, the rank promotes activity, which I feel is a positive much greater than the mentioned negative.

There can be a system in place too, just like the older OGV team when they finally had a rank released. Allow members to join the team, and only receive the rank after a month or two of sustained activity, whether that be a Staff/CA leaders choice or through a checklist, then remove the rank when the member slackens off.

 

I said no to it before and I still think it's a bad idea unless it can be controlled properly, but I guess it's worth a try.

 

We're having a "meeting" of sorts on Skype on Thursday to put a proper activity system in place. Will update on the results.

 

If it goes well and we actually get stuff organised, I think that the rank should be allowed to those who have committed long term and sustained a level of activity.

 

Oh you guys are wanting a fun rank? I thought this was all over a mini-rank. As a mini-rank I support. But otherwise, no.

Fun rank for CDT members? No way. Everybody can enter the CDT. If fun ranks are going to be given out that easy then I want a fun rank also because I'm also helping Sythe by processing donations.

The members of CDT are chosen because they are active in the community and are willing to help the community. Being helpful != Trust
I do support a minirank for CDT members. Fun rank would be ridiculous.

 

You mainly profit from donations if you wanted to anyways. Not everyone can enter CDT, only active and trusted members of the community.

 

Wrong. You have to be accepted by staff when it comes to voting to enter CDT. You can't just say can I be CDT.

Even though I'm no longer CDT, I still think they're deserving, as I know what it's like to be in their position.

NO... thne it becomes about people wanting to be on CDT just for the rank and no such much the community invovlement.

You state well we need this so people will know who we are to send us ideas... no they don't need to know who you are, you want them to know who you are to stroke your egos.

If they want to find the CDT link them to the thread, if you want them to know you are CDT link it in your sig.

This mass grab for fucking attention and ranks needs to fucking stop.

you guys need to stop circle jerking. OGV we denied a rank, CDT should be denied a rank.

Honestly it has nothing to do with "they don't know who the cdt members are"

pretending like doing cdt is hard work and time consuming.

 

I don't care if we have a rank or not. I all I do for this site because I want to, not for recognition/commendation...which is pretty obvious lol.

With that said however, I don't have anything against the rank, and bumped this more so to make people aware what the CDT is/does - relevant to the OP and them contacting us if they need something. Two birds, one stone.
