Tell the CDT What To Do

Not sure how I can help, but the best way to do this would be a poll.

What type of member are you?

Mostly Use Market
Mostly Use Community
Bit of Both

Then tally the numbers, compare votes in a graph of Active market users vs Community vs Both.

Unless SuF can collect that data via posts and person, idk if that's possible.

This would need all active members to vote to collectively get an idea of who is involved where?

 

Just need a list of usernames that participated in the event. SuF and I can do the rest

 

Is the market or the community the predominate reason you use Sythe?

Not sure if that might help any, but there is a good chunk of votes

 

This gives a good statistic for the whole forum/members, although I think what SuF was referring to was based on what the dev teams do; as in events and participation in that form and how members participate and depending on whether they're a market user/community user. This way in the future the dev teams can use the statistics to see the difference per 6months/1year etc based on what they bring out, and also see what members like for events, etc.

 

That's cool but that thread was posted in a community forum, so it likely reached all community members but not all market members - so while it does justify that market members are more plentiful than community members, I think it undercounts how many of them there really are in comparison to community members

Still helpful and further proves that there is room for expansion of the community from within the site

 

So one issue that I've thought of is that I don't have enough disk space on my friend's server to actually download all 13.6M posts. I'm using like 15% of his disk space for only about 500k posts. I'm going to have to hope my desktop still has Linux installed on one of the random partitions and I'll have to delete a bunch of torrented shit.

 

CDT, you should create Sythe Apparel, I want a black Sythe T Shirt with the Sythe logo printed in gold.

 

Unsure if there is a large interest for this to occur/or to have this done, if there is;
I don't see why we couldn't look into it. We could poll to see if this would be liked, however it depends if its possible.

A company who could make these/deliver these.. would deal with IRL postal information. So we wouldn't have to deal with that/personal info.
But there would have to be someone who deals with the money and financial implications.
I ordered a limited edition unique designed hoody from a site; people can use various websites to sell merchandise etc.
CDT or GFXers can design what it could look like, and poll a few ideas.. Have it printed out .. etc.. Although as we're worldwide based, we'd need something that works for shipping to multiple countries; affordable pricing and profitable income.

 

This totally was a thing before. I think x339 was doing it.

 

I was thinking to use the website that most streamers use when doing a shirt or apparel campaign, can't remember the name right now though

i liked the Rio event, was easy to participate in straightforward & well-laid out

t-shirts sounds like a bit of a stretch to me though in all honesty

 

I don't agree with the way the RSPS is being handled..
1. The RSPS poll thread didn't contain any useful information.

If you want to gather useful data from a poll you would have to do the bare minimum and provide enough information to educate non experienced members on what they're voting for. I ended up having to spend hours gathering information and contacting a cdt member to add my information to the thread, when it should have been the CDT's job to do that before they even made the post.

2. There's little to no communication between the CDT and TC

If it's the CDT's job to gather data to give to the TC they should at least be on the same page when it comes to releasing game servers. After speaking with some members it seems that there's little to no communication between the CDT and TC..

3. It's been 5-6 days since the poll should have closed and we haven't received an update on it

thanks for voicing your concerns.

Currently a lot is happening with CDT, such as CDT/PR members have been separated of their membership; therefore anyone who was working on a CDT task is no longer doing so; as they would be PR only now. I.E. Gracious.
As well as the CDT taking major steps to de-cleansing members of inactivity, and trying to ensure there is transparency in future events, applications; and what the CDT does and doesn't do. Now I know this isn't an excuse to why the RSPS poll hasn't been sorted with, but hopefully you can understand that a lot is happening to better the CDT over all so in future we can be on top of everything else.

Since then the CDT/PR/TC have been conjoined; in cross-posting, so we're attempting to work better at merging all our efforts between the three teams to ensure better communication.

At the current moment, @Gracious should have the poll results. @Sephiroth is currently not able to be on. I will find out if Gracious has passed those poll votes onto a TC member; or at least try make it known between all three teams, so at least all of us have the knowledge of what is going on.

On the basis of 1), the CDT tried to aim to get as much possible information, without making it become too much and unbearable to read. Unfortunately it was really hard to try and gather information of each revision. Like yourself you may have much more knowledge on a specific revision, and we're glad you could gather that information for the poll.

2) - All three development teams are merged, via cross posting so expect better communication in future. We hope.

3)I will make sure the thread is closed, survey votes are passed on, and we get an update out via that, whether it be from CDT or TC.

-Edit: Upon trying to get the thread closed I was told @Sythe wants it to remain open.

@Realist Glad you enjoyed the Rio Olympics event If you have any suggestions on types of events you would like to see in future, don't hesitate to brainstorm.

 

Can you guys make a scary story competition for halloween? and romantic poem for valentines day?

 

Hey Scotty, thanks for your suggestion. We will be releasing a thread for suggestions as to what the community may want for the upcoming Halloween season, it shall be posted soon hopefully as soon as the Quarterly is released.

We will keep the romantic poem idea in mind for Valentines Day, if it is definitely something the community wants to see again; an event for the Valentines season I'm sure we can work towards that when the time is due.

Have any other queries don't hesitate to ask, and any other suggestions are welcomed.

Make a pets competition please. A lot of the Sythe community has pets and this is one event I feel people would actually participate in.
