Closing Promotion/Announcement Threads

A lot of people get publicly promoted through the News Forum and many other different announcement ways. This is also where general announcements are made etc.

But one thing that bugs me to death is that these threads stay open for more then a week and they are just turning into threads for people that want their thread count up.

So what i am suggesting is that after 2 to 3 days, which is plenty of time, close these threads. After 2 to 3 days we get it, congratulations, but time passes and its not meant for people who just want their post count up.

 

Closing it in a week is good since everyone isn't on everyday, to say congratz and stuff.... but yea most people just say the same thing... just trying to get his/her post count up...

 

I generally find that these threads are being posted in weeks after they were made, so I would support this suggestion. I know it's quite easy to lock them, but to be honest, nobody really remembers.

 

I was thinking about it last night when I saw how much spam there was in some of the promotion-demotion threads. I support this idea as well.
