Seeing a lot of newkids claiming to be #1, reported one, and cosrob said it was allowed. This was someone with 30ish vouches, and like at tops 100 quests done. Nowhere near as much as septicon.

Rule should be changed?

It's like products you see in the supermarket "99% fat free", what's it fat free from? Last nights' dinner? What's the person number 1 at? Making a pretty thread? To me, unless they say exactly what they're number one in it's fine.

It's just an advertising gimmick trying to get other members to purchase from them. Yes, there's a line that shouldn't be crossed but I personally don't think the whole "Number One" thing crosses it.

Just thought I'd point out that the fat free label refers to how much fat is contained in a product based on its fat by weight percentage.

Titles like these are fine. They are fine because claiming "best" or "no. 1" is entirely subjective. Nobody is forcing you to believe that they are what they claim, it's merely an advertising scheme that has been used for years.

I also remember you weren't allowed to put 'trusted' in your thread title.

Last time I reported this, appareantly it was allowed again..?

Because "trusted" is entirely subjective. We're not going to set out a criteria to use it in titles, either everyone can or no one can. That said, I don't particularly care one way or another whether it's allowed or banned altogether.

I'm not going to lie. When I see people who are by no means trusted (couple month old accounts, only a few posts, only a few vouches) putting "Trusted" in their titles - I do not hesitate to remove it. Hate on me if you want. I do know there is an extreme "Grey Area" between what's trusted and what isn't. But people who are OBVIOUSLY not, don't deserve to call themselves such.

This is unacceptable. Newcomers browsing this site who don't know any better will see #1 and think "This guy's number 1, wow, he must be legit". If people are allowed to say "#1", can they then claim that "I'm more trusted than omms/sectionals/globals/admins/sythe himself" cuz that's what "#1" means.

Just make it so no one can claim #1 trusted. As you said, it's entirely subjective so the #1 most-trusted user doesn't even exist, how can people claim to be something that doesn't exist

As I said people have to use a deal of common sense if they see that they have say 50 posts and joined this month then clearly they are not and if they belive that they were they would be either very stupid or niave.

We shouldn't encourage misleading of anyone, regardless if they're stupid or naive

I do the same as N4N0, if I see someone new who puts trusted, 10bil traded or w/e I remove it and they say well I have vouches here but I tell them they don't work it's sythe not whatever else.

Wait Wait Wait... A Non Trusted Person can make there Thread Title
"TRUSTED - #1 -Buying All Partyhats- #1 - TRUSTED"

and that is completely fine for a newcomer with 1 post 0 vouches ?
Anyone could add the words "trusted" to their thread title, does it make them trusted? Obviousy not.

Its all up to a user's own discretion as to whether or not claim someone trusted. Someone may look at I Don't Bot for example, 200 vouches, well known, and they can claim his as "not trusted" because of say his TWC.

On the other hand, another user may look at IDB and think, judging by the thread layouts and his maturity and manner whilst doing the trades, he's trustworthy regardless of a TWC.

No one can be labeled, "trusted" or "not-trustworthy" its all just advertisement.

I agree some one shouldn't be allowed to use the word "trust" until maybe a certain mile stone is hit. But I have some other concerns. I really think the word trust here is extremely overrated. It's easy for some one to obtain "trust" status by flipping gold or selling pins. I don't see this as quality vouches or a sign of trust. All they're doing is using the same exact cash over and over gaining up to 10% profit per transaction. They have no reason to scam because they always have that 5-10% to look forward to with each flip. It's really a never ending cycle. But I really think if they didn't have this guaranteed 10% to look forward to some of them could be untrustworthy. For example I have found proof of npnk scamming before he became the 2nd largest upgrade seller here. He no longer has a reason to scam because he has a free ride "stolen pins". Once this "guaranteed" situation ends the tables turn. Also, I am unsure what I really think about people boasting $500,000+ traded. Because technically 90% of it is the same dollar.

Anyways.. I am horrible at explaining things but maybe some one could decipher what I am really trying to say. Just my thoughts on "trust"

He may very well get a service worthy of a #1 though. Claiming to be #1 could mean trustworthiness, kindness, helpfulness, patience and so many other things. In the real world, if someone claims to be "Number One" then most people decide to ignore it there, and the people that think "Oh there Number One, better get there product!" get that product and then if it's not what they asked for (On Sythe terms, they are scammed) They make a complaint and punishment is given. Let's give the members of the Sythe Market at least a little bit of freedom and allow them to use that at least a little of that grey area.

i don't see the problem, no one can truly claim to be Number 1, its user preference, Let them have the Title it wont hurt anything, if you can't read over vouches and see who truly is legit or not, you don't need to be on here anyways.

As long as it doesn't use any staff titles or such and it's not dumb, as n4n0 mentioned, I don't see any problem.

I have it on my MM thread... Cosrob does too.
