Circumcisions, Your thoughts?

By your logic , I should kill people, steal from people, and have tons of gay sex because it against most religous norms.

EDIT2: Not to put words in Nero's mouth, and please correct me if I am wrong. I don't think he is concerned with the religous norms, because the positives of the procedure highly outweigh not having it done.

 

I don't care whether it is medically beneficial or not. It's still an ex post facto justification for mutilating a newborns based on cultural or religious principles.

And even if you claim it prevents infections in the future, that's a bullshit argument. You deal with the problem when (or if) it comes. You wouldn't suggest we give newborns appendectomies in case they might get appendicitis in the future, would you?

You aren't even making logical points now. I am not even arguing the religious significance of it, as religious significance doesn't even matter to me. You are just repeating yourself now. When you think of a better argument then come back.

No.. the religious obligations was not even my main point in my post. You're seeing what you want to see in my argument.

Hundreds of millions, maybe even billions of men go on to live healthy lives with uncircumcised penises. You make it out like if you leave it uncircumcised, you'll get an infection and die for sure, no exceptions whatsoever lol. I have a problem with having a piece of my body removed without my permission, is that not enough justification? What more do I need? It's one thing if it was causing me issues, then I would have no problem with it.. but it was removed without my consent and I will never know what it is like to have my foreskin. I don't modify my body, the only body mods I have are my ears pierced at 20g, which would easily close up if I so desired. By your logic, we might as well remove our tonsils and appendixes at birth as well as they serve no function and can only lead to health problems in the future in some cases. Just like with tonsils and appendixes, the odds of a health issue occurring as a result of the foreskin are overwhelmingly unlikely. As for transmission rates, that may be relevant to certain individuals who go around fucking anything with a willing hole, but I myself have always practiced safe sex with people I know for a fact do as well. I can teach my son to do the same, the point is pretty invalid for my purposes. Pain is hardly an excuse to do it at birth either, I experience pain to this day as a result of my circumcision. After all, the purpose of the foreskin is to protect the sensitive head... not to get too personal, but certain underwear irritate my penis because it is unprotected. Plus, babies experience pain. I fail to see how just because they can't remember it means the pain is negligible. If a baby was in pain, most people's natural instinct would be to try to soothe the baby. Why cause the pain at all if it may not even be necessary? If it is, then so be it, but depriving the boy of the choice is just wrong IMO. I wouldn't want my son to wind up like me, wishing he knew what it was like. Argue it from whatever side/pov you want, but my body is my body and permanently removing a part of it without my permission is not cool with me, the only exception being if it was actually threatening my life.

Though circumcisions not only prevent STD transmission and infections it also reduces cases of penile cancer and is generally better for hygiene. Preventative medicine is better than dealing with conditions when they happen. Preventing diseases, infections, and anything else would help with health care in the long run by lowering costs and increasing efficiency.

Does not taking in carcinogens involve violating the right to self ownership by cutting off part of an infant's body? And taking in carcinogens is a decision for yourself, not for someone else. If I'm not mistaken, we're talking about mutilating infants. I don't give two shits whether as an adult you want to chop off parts of your penis or not.

 

That's up to the parents, not the infant.

The medical argument has no merit in a first world country. If we are talking about Africa, fine, cut them all off because it might actually help them later in life due to the lack of any other sort of medicine and preventative care. However, if you are talking about a first world country where you can get a condom basically anywhere and you will be able to wash everyday, there is absolutely no reason to be circumcised as you can just as easily take preventive steps (that work much better) for all the issues circumcision helps with.

There is a reason we get circumcised, its cleaner and less risk for infection. and it looks better..... ladies.

As for looks once its hard the skin pulls back fully i dont understand how you could actually get a hard on properly with that skin missing i swear mine would tear or something.

I am not circumsized. My parents never really went into any details about it, but I have always made sure to clean myself and everything. When I figured out what circumsizion was, I was embarrassed that I was uncut. I wouldn't show my flaccid penis to many girls, needless to say, it was a bit confusing when I was young.

Now, I'm glad that I am still intact. As stated above, sex is a bit more enjoyable versus a cut penis. A cut penis rubs around on your underwear over the years, and you lose most of the feeling in the head. Mine is pretty sensitive, but not over sensitive.

As to which looks better, thats merely opinionated. Girls prefer different things. I have been with my girlfriend for a while, and she loves my penis.

 

What's so horrendous about it? It's akin to piercing or tattooing minus the small health benefits.
