I'm going to start by saying, well...most of you are fucking stupid if you think the RSGP black market/botting provides Jagex with more revenue than legit players.

By viewing the main Runescape page, and going through their links/pages you're viewing their advertisements which generates A LOT more cash flow than the membership from bots. By using a bot client, you're skipping them then logging your accounts in, which - in turn makes them lose A LOT of money. All this bullshit about 'oh, there's more bots than actual players so they won't ban us because of the money they make from us' is complete, and utter arrogant bullshit.

Edit: I'm going to explain the differentiations between membership, and advertisement traffic.

Membership for 1 Character per month is on average £3-5
A LOT of these are stolen, and Jagex DO NOT profit from these, in which if a goldfarmer were to be running a goldfarm they would obtain these ILLEGALLY and as goldfarmers and goldfarms make up the majority of these 'mass accounts' that's a lot of money being lost, added to that they aren't viewing the Jagex Website so Jagex aren't making money from them that way either. 1-5 with legitimate membership DOES NOT make up for losses.

They generate those amounts monthly, permanently, and get extra via traffic. Thus, they make more money that way.

I'm VERY sick of seeing these bias opinionated threads filled with people that don't have the slightest clue about business.

Discuss.

Edit: Prior to that, the bringing back of the Free Trade and Wilderness wasn't because they wanted to make people happy, it was just another way to get traffic for ads.

Kid, stop raging! Let people think what they think, you don't know for sure how the hell JaGeX makes their main revenue/income of money. Even if we did who cares, I'm not sure but this would look better in the botting/cheating section.

P.S I think they might make the same if not more of memberships ect, as look how many there are.

I still believe Bots are making Jagex more money, than any legitters.
Why? Most botters has 5-10+ characters, some even has 100+.

Thats just 1 player, having 100+ characters. Do you know anyone legit, that has more than 2 members?

I'm not raging, and don't call me a kid when you don't know my age.
I know fully well without a spread sheet of the facts and figures there's no full proof evidence as to where their revenue comes from, but nevertheless they LOSE money, not gain from the bots so they're just an issue, not a reason to make 'publicity stunts' and 'propaganda' to cover up the amount of revenue they're making from bots and make the legitimate players happy, there's no reason to. I'm just sick of all the bullshit theories.

If botting is a major issue for Jagex, and they lose money.
How come havent they, introduced anything that prevented botting?

Lol dude, You don't really know about JaGex's turnover and the money they make it comes from all different aspects but the membership from bots is a component and it may well help the profit that jagex continue to increase such as the referral system which would create more revenue it all becomes one piece in the end,

P.S does it really matter lol

I explained the differentiations so your post is pointless.

And no, it doesn't matter I'm just clearing up the bullshit theories.

Personally i dont believe that Jagex cares, that much how they gets the money.
Jagex is just yet another business, and they need money to get it running.

Its all about the money, and nothing else.

Tier 1 Prizebox
Tbh, they ban the botters, so they make another P2P acc. You don't have a clue about business, as there is more botfarm accounts than legitters.

1. Who's Russianvillian? If he's some scammer that's been banned, please get a mod to do an IP check!

2. Most people say on this thread that botters earn JaGeX more money, so GF on that one.

3. You just went against your own idea by saying there is no ''official spreadsheet'' as your post is based on how much JaGeX makes and you don't know how much they earn and off whom.

4. Making a thread like this you must be a kid, letting peoples opinions get you angry.

5. WHO GIVES A S*** ABOUT WHO JAGEX MAKES MORE MONEY OFF

-Braders756.

P.S, Your a Mod wanna-be.

Everything you say is an assumption. Sure gold farmers used to use stolen credit cards which nearly got RS closed down but that doesn't happen now. Why? As if it happened now RS would be gone for good. Banks gave Jagex one last chance and they removed free trade and wildy to get around this.

Sure FT/W is back but Jagex isn't being screwed over by people using fake credit cards else the game would have beem force closed by now.

Secondly, when a game update happens, check how many people are playing before the game updates and how many play afterwards. There's a huge difference and many of those who don't login after a game update will be bots...

I'm going to guess your new to runescape and have no idea what you're on about, as well, you have no idea what you're on about..

Bots are a serious money provider for Jagex. 99% of people who bot pay for their membership legitimately.

/end.

Who here can say they honestly work for Jagex? Anyone? Who really cares? You either play the game and give them money or you don't. It's a game that's it, provided some people make some money off it, but it's really nothing more than a game. No ones forcing you to play. You don't like the way they handle things, then quit playing. Seriously, it's not like any one knows how they really do things.

It's their company, they run it, not you. Quit complaining about how they try to handle their situations in the game to make it a some what better playing environment for their customers, or how they make money. It's a business after all.

Your "facts" are just as much assumption.

Somebody is paying for the membership. If payment is reversed then an account doesn't last more than a week. Jagex does record ip activity when it comes to fraudulent payments (not from botting).

You obviously don't know how ads work.

Jagex is either paid by the click (unlikely) or payed monthly based on their server stats. Server stats are measured by unique ip visits and its very unlikely that goldfarmers NEVER check the homepage. Not to mention since the server is shared those who route straight to the game still count as traffic.

Point is that membership > ads
By a lot.

What the hell is this? This is an empty and pathetic excuse of a runescape "hub" that has nothing to do with Jagex's income in any way shape or form.
