Auto Bumping

OSRS Gold threads are filled with people that say open a ticket on discord and 24/7 services but in fact they are afk and letting the auto bumper spam the section all day and night. tomorrow morning I will make a report showing how many people are actually abusing this rule.

 

I'm with @Pikachu on this, I am sick and tired of seeing it personally (i get there is a requirement, and people essentially donate to get it) because it makes us all look bad.

Even me as of today literally, I bump 15-20 threads or so MANUALLY, and chances are although I would like to autobump until I knew how to use it etc, i'd do it still regardless of my donation rank and not try mislead people.

 

Get rid of autobumper!
Ban "join my discord server/website" postings. Post your goddamn inventory on sythe ya lazy bum

 

I agree, ever since I first started actively attempting to use this market a few years back - i noticed it was plagued with auto bumped threads while they are AFK. Unfair to users actively bumping the threads and ready for customers - so I indeed support this decision, sadly in this instance a few bad apples will have to ruin the whole tree.

I'd also like to add that it's also not enough to simply punish users for being AFK while they bump the threads as it becomes an issue of even if someone takes a leak and is 'afk' they could be held accountable - so overall it sadly is best to just abandon auto bumping all together.

 

I believe that autobumpers have largely contributed to the downfall in human activity on Sythe's forums, and I dislike it. I believe they are bad for the health of Sythe's community, from a market standpoint but also from an engagement/involvement one as well.

 

Who would of thought that letting people put fake titles , with fake stock, with fake promises, and allowing them to use auto bumpers could ruin the community experience as well drive away potential clients.

I support removing the auto bump feature as someone whos manually posted 30,000+ times, as well a side suggestion stop allowing people to post titles when they continually have no stock of accounts, gold, or what they are advertising.

When u have to cycle through so many auto-bumped threads for a regular sale of an Account/Gold, and even if people post what they sell it will shortly be dissolved into the never ending abyss of the auto bumped thread's. One day on Page 1, next day on Page 3/4/5. Its was a little overwhelming upon my return trying to navigate through the market, and I didn't even think personal threads existed due to all the Bumped Thread's.

Another note: Whoever makes the final decision on this type of stuff it was really deterring for me upon return to actually want to get back into the community because the Market just feels like one massive corporate advertisement. Its okay to have your services listed, but it basically feels like you see the same thing day in and day out on the Market Forums. If not removed, At least increase auto-bumper to 24 hours or once a day.

I agree the only way a donor perk is being removed is with overwhelming evidence that it is being abused and a detriment to the website.

 

So let me get this straight, auto bumping was removed and then re-allowed? i feel like theres a lesson to be learned here. but as someone who manually bumps for when im online only. i support this.

 

I feel like at the very least lessons were not learned. Can we at least agree that perhaps autobump features can be removed from vendors found abusing it? If the mods don't feel like taking the time to enforce validating if vendors are auto-bumping with no inventory then maybe they should go back to the precedent set in 2019 "too great to be enforced"

I'm not talking slap on the wrist penalties either. 12 months suspension from auto-bump features if caught auto-bumping without inventory to meet whats advertises or without staff available to take orders.

Just because somebody may have donated for that perk ___ years ago doesnt mean Sythe should be burdened to continue honoring it if it is being abused.

 

Atleast remove them from the 8 year old dead posts that send u to discords that either A dont exist anymore or B theres no one in it that replies. I posted a gold selling post and im a new seller so im just trying to build a reputation and within 30 mins i was pushed off the front page. i checked a few of the posts and they were from liek 2015 with links that didnt work or no one answering.

 

should also remove the ability to auto bump for those with a trade with caution rank

 

If they don't remove it another suggestion would be, to infract them 1 time if they keep doing it, dnt or ban them for 30 days. because it's misleading, you are either active or not.
edit: I saw the issue my self with a few discords/websites.

 

have been sick for last couple days finally getting around to my point about auto bumpers.

here we have someone bumping Gold Threads and doesn't even have a ticket system in the discord for RSGP...

we will give 10 minutes time for them answer a simple ticket allows for them to be afk. some have no discord tickets and just auto bumping add me as a friend. I'd say 10 minutes is fine for them to accept a request if they are really here ready to buy / sell gold you are always ready for a ding and answer with in a timely manner.
