[APPROVED]removal of autobumping

I also support the removal of the auto bump service.

Many people who don't trade still are getting auto bumped. Threads that are inactive for years, haven't completed a single deal related to that thread etc etc.

It goes on and on. If you manually bump, it means you're 100% online.

 

I agree with both these posts. 2 out of 3 of the last people I've contacted about there services have auto bumpers and are no longer providing said service.

At the very least I'd like to see people be punished in some way for leaving these threads up being auto bumped as it's just a waste of time and pushes legit threads down the list for no reason.

That definitely is an issue which if left unchecked will force the site to rule against autobumpers as more dead threads accumulate from users forgetting to delete them. I propose that auto bumpers implement a timeout. It could look like, for example, a renew option on the UI that needs to be manually pressed each week.

 

This is a good idea, I personally don't have a problem with the autobumps as a feature and this would help the issue with dead threads being bumped which is my main concern.

The alternative is all of the large companies look like that and the rest get shadowed because they can't monitor their threads 24/7. Some regulation could help like what I posted previously, sure. But banning it is a lil much.

Oh that's legit I'll impliment that in mine too. Mine also has a way to enable and disable your account.

I think the most important function for the health of the market is a required renewal button on a 1-2 week interval.

 

Going to support this even though I've been using SYPHERZ's autobumped and it's dope,it makes for better competition overall(removal of autobumping I mean) Still,I would like to thank you again for the amazing service you are offering.

Nah but fr, can't support this. Account market is pretty much dead because of all the newcomer scammers listing maxed accounts for $100 so I have to bump it regularly to find that low percentage of people that are actually willing to pay for safety :/

If there is a way to implement no post count is added after 20 posts on the same thread, I would be all for that. That would stop post farming by autobumpers I believe.

 

While we've historically denied this suggestion, the recent change to a 4 hour bump window makes a big impact here. I will leave this open for other input

 

I'd like to reiterate on my opinion that the most unhealthy impact of auto bumpers on the market is from people not turning their threads off. It'll over time clog up the markets to the point where bumpers need to be reworked or ruled against. Some sort of interval based timeout should be set up on all threads being bumped, implemented by the person providing the service. After that there's little damage that can be done.

 

Probably wouldn't have had to drop it to 4 hours without autobumpers.
Sypherz makes a good point, lots of dead threads where those people aren't even actively trading.

 

no support as vendors will continue to leave sythe and collect their vouches elsewhere like they already are. most websites for service providing and gold sales are already linking trustpilot instead of sythe links due to the new update. if they can't even autobump their own threads, they may as well just leave sythe completely. Richard won't okay this because he will lose money if his banner spot holders decide to leave sythe.

 

Honestly I support. All auto bumping does is clutter the thread and blocks out the little guy trying to make a buck. If you can't bump your own thread, then why even be here?

 

To everyone repeating the same redundant point along the lines of, "if said trader/user is offline, then their automated/paid bumps negatively impact smaller traders who are actually online".

IT IS ALREADY STATED WITHIN THE RULES, THAT, BUMPING YOUR THREAD WHEN YOU ARE NOT ONLINE IS AN OFFENSE, AND WILL RESULT IN AN INFRACTION - PUNISHMENT INCREASING IN SRVERITY UNTIL THE OFFENDER STOPS.

Now, the more pertinent issue is, whose responsibility is it to ensure that the user/trader utilising the paid/autobumper is online? Is it the paid/autobumpers, or the user/trader? It should most definitely be the user/trader.
