[approved] Update the current PM template for Discord

Initially I didn't really like this suggestion, however as time went on and I rethought about it, it kind of grew on me. I feel like what Talon said summed it up perfectly because people will avoid reading the discord tag and thinking that automatically confirms it's the same person as it will solely make them focus on their UID, which will prevent a lot of scams in the long run. Support from me.

 

Good call. I can't tell you how many scam reports I've handled where the scammer feigns legitimacy someway, and the victim feels like it's sufficient proof. Regardless of how many times you try to drill it into people's heads, it is easy for a newcomer to fall prey to these types of scammers.

Sometimes, more isn't always better. I'm always receptive to suggestions that lessen redundancy. Support.

Despite this change being made, many newcomers will fail to even use/require/ask for a PM using the template (inevitably). I’m a huge advocate for strengthening awareness as well. I think we could do a better job on that, as a community.

 

Whatever stops people from getting scammed by imposters.
The new proposed template is short and sweet, I could understand why some newcomers (or sometimes lazy people like me) don't use the current one.

Someone else above quoted and said the same thing. Never knew, but still a check/balance that can be done to help prove if someone's real or not. Ofc not the only thing that should be looked at.

 

Support, I hate having to confirm unnecessary things that at the end of the day only make it easier for new users to be scammed -.-

We've changed the order of the template to start off with UID, as well as provide a warning to double check it. We won't drop the Discord ID's as there is still some identifiable information that someone can use when reviewing a confirmation PM

We understand that some users might have the template saved and just simply copy paste it, we ask that you try to update your PMs to help prevent impostor scams
