Hellow @Sythe users I want to point out some important aspects of the new update that were not considered when making the decision of implementing this BIG MISTAKE that will kill this forum forever.

- Ignoring the fact It could be quite unfair how the current system was, It was something that was AVAILABLE FOR EVERYONE (Most of the members took advantage of it) and it was more rewarding to the users that had more traffic because they were not only old, also they spent A LOT of money on advertising as @Bogla does (Which is quite fair if you ask me) and this Vouch = Bonus gold system is very important to the forum as a whole and I will explain why:

1) The old vouch system bring more users to the forum every day, Why? because they have to register to vouch for each user as they do and sometimes they even click and check the forum and even end up clicking on other sellers to compare prices / buy accounts and most important in my case FIND AND PAY FOR questing/minigame services which are my main area.

As gold sellers, we can't deny that we have many customers in common than we wish to admit because of the existence of the forum itself and as a consequence of bringing more and more users every day so if we KILL this mechanic/vouching system GOLD SELLERS and GOLD COMPANIES won't have any motivation to redirect their TRAFFIC to sythe.org which will decrease the traffic of the forum and will lead to its end.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT SYTHE TRAFFIC was not even considered when mods took this decision and I can't believe that they don't advertised this enough before the update so the concerned people could vote (I don't check this section a lot and most of the important members either so It would be a good update to advertise updates on discord before they are approved so people can vote)

DO NOT FORGET that sythe.org does not spend a single cent on advertising the forum via google ads/youtube/Runescape and other things as gold companies do every day so the vouching/referral system is a fundamental and the only via to get new users which will buy gold and services from other members as they do and if we don't consider that and we focus on the users that are not relevant enough because the are snowflakes that feel that they can't compete in a FREE MARKET we are screwed as a community/forum.

Finally, I think that the new bumping limit of 4 hours doesn't work at all because if you were concern about not being at the top of the forum for a few seconds then now you will be 50% less time at the top of the forum because everyone can BUMP faster than before. (Take in mind that you thread goes to page 2 within minutes with the old system and now will be way faster than ever)

Now everyone please vote and take in mind that if you are a small gold seller/service provider that was looking to get more customers YOU NEED TO GET TRAFFIC FROM THIS FORUM so we have to do our best to keep the forum alive.

EDIT: IF the goal was to combat the abuse of bonus gold = vouch, then BUMP time should have been reduced as it was (4 hours is quite nice) but the referral thing is very important for the forum and it doesn't matter if the traffic was big or small 1/50 staying in a forum and buying from other sellers or service providers as me at least 3 times then quitting forever (Because that is the pattern they follow) is good of the forum overall.

Another even more reduced amount of newcomers stay even more and become relevant to the forum as some of the stories that we have around.

So I have to admit that the complete update was not bad but I'm only complaining about 1 aspect which is the (bonus gold = vouch) and we can do some other positive things as Mods selling bumps for 2$ each to give more equality to the forum without harming the way it works.

Support, this new rule will reduce sythe traffic by more than the admins of this site think.

Trusted users - who bring in MOST customers, are the ones who incentives people to CREATE sythe accounts by asking for a vouch. This incentive is gone, sythe user count/monthly will decrease mark my words

most people who actively trade are against this rule, yet it seems the users who aren't actively trading amongst a few known names who benefit directly from this are prioritised on this site.

Support.

Our intent is that this change creates a more fair market system for all users and gives everyone equal opportunity for exposure.
How is it fair for an user that is actively trading and collecting vouches to have the same exposure as a inactive or new user?..

Support; i dont see how being able to autobump every 4 hours when the user potentially isn't online makes that forum any better whatsoever.

For those who say its unfair to new members, that is simply not true - everyone had equal opportunity to have what trades they conduct vouched on those threads the same as others were. Active traders who are likely to have stock would appear nearer the top, and finding their recent trade history and feedback would be easy.

Having vouches on threads also allows potential new customers to see relevant trades to that thread, having someone link a vouch thread which shows all sorts of different trades and having them specifically look for relevant trades is hassle the customer doesn't want. For example - if someone who has done lots of skill services opens a gold shop and they link their 200+ vouches, but has never done a gold trade before would go unnoticed. It's like using a middleman for a trade who has 500+ vouches, but has never middle manned before.

With the amount of ban evaders that rejoin sythe donate 200$ and scam hundreds, why would you bring in an update that makes it easier for them, giving them more exposure at the top of the market?

Tl'dr, its a free market stop interfering.

I support this, the users that are spending their money on the higher traffic sites are doing so for a reason. The larger sellers are the most trusted and although it may disincentivize smaller sellers trying to start, I believe that's a good thing as it will reduce the amount of scammers. Everyone has to start somewhere and that's where dedication and hard work pays off. This is a free market. Don't try to make it equal for everyone, that's not going to work.

Support, however I would have preferred every 12 hours instead of 8 (crap now i'd prefer 8 as opposed to 4).

Who cares about the time it takes to initiate a sale on Sythe? Bumping threads every 4 hours doesn't help anyone. If you care that much about bumping a thread every 4 hours because you need a sale, you should probably consider a different occupation.

I strongly believe this was a very weak attempt to cater to new players all while suppressing the recent events of scam quitting. This will only further add fuel to the flames, but hey, let's not make a pop appear for new players reminding them that Donation amount and post count do not = trust. Instead allow more users to get post count, ensure more useless spam on the forums, and allow practically anyone to gain vouches in any particular method thus ensuring more scamming within the community.

Great call.

Just my 2 cents.

Afaik most sellers make the buyers leave a vouch on their goldselling thread for free bump and then quote that into vouch thread. Basically, no support unless you remove the aforementioned too.

PHP Shit Show 2k26
Fallacies in the new ruling:

1) A prospective user will look at thread activity and will seek previous customers' vouches/feedback before making an informed decision to use the service in concern.

2) You can't leave someone a negative review (for example leaving feedback where someone got 2 defence in a NMZ service) on the market thread, instead of on a vouch thread where it won't be seen.

3) Long term users are now at an advantage due to their existing vouches still on their threads vs new users.

Suggestion:

Make it such that non-OP posts do not trigger a bump on the thread, meanwhile running the 4 hour bump system. No one should have complaints.

I'd like to see an increase in bump time rather than decrease. Threads look so crappy now with all the spam. Enforce a 12 hour bumping rule. Of course this will make people try others to bump their thread for them - but this can be regulated. For instance, forbid comments like "I confirm I'm talking with you on discord right now". Those kind of comments don't belong on a thread. Communication like that should be carried out in private messages.

Also, please, moderators of Sythe: start asking people for proof of trades.

EDIT: Auto bumpers are ridiculous. If you're serious about your business you can bump your thread yourself.

No support,

I think auto bumping with bots should be banned at least but keeping this is fine it gives guys without auto bumpers to stay ahead because we are online and others aren't while using their bots to stay ahead of others.

Do you know how many posts some of these gold sellers would have to make everyday for "proof of trades" lol... @Izad there's no reason for proof of trade on majority of stuff done..

The most recent update about vouches being prohibited from being posted on services threads is the most idiotic update that could be even imagined and it's actually live now, add to that the small fact about vouches being completely useless and current vouch system being totally retarded. My question is: Who was that smart to come up with that idea?

People built their prestige to have these replies from satissfied customers to show strength of their services which was built by fair work and competition instead of walls of bumps, vouches in vouch forums are totally useless, I stopped collecting them myself in 2013 after 2 years of trading at number of 1800. Number of vouches means nothing, there's no difference between 1800 and 18000 for first time customer since that's number of trades he can't even imagine, seeing people using certain service and posting opinion about it is the achievement, everyone has equal opportunity to compete with prices, speed and quality of services, every single person here started from scratch.

People read only first and last page of services, seeing nothing else than "bump" or "Available" wont attract many people, it wont make Sythe good place to advertise, it will actually make people think their service is abandoned. It's a cancer for forums and market.

I'm talking about spot checks and I refer to sections where fake vouching occurs due to vendettas (e.g. in the graphic section). It has happened several times - at least in the graphic section - that designers ask their clients to leave a comment both prior to AND after the work has been carried out. With the sole purpose to have their thread at the top. It's ridiculous and I myself would never sink to that level.

Didn't know that's how it worked over there with your section,

to be honest having clients bump threads for you and still use those comments in a vouch thread makes no sense to me.

I think the bump timer is gr8 at 4 hours if you remove the bots that are now spamming it ever 4 hours, I think you should have to manually bump your threads and the bots should be banned.

Think about competing with a robot all day who never misses a moment...
^ this has to be the most ironic thing ever though.

Competing with robots when the users are offline most the time or just leave there threads online + have you seen some of these guys offering auto bumpers and getting 100+ PC and 100+ sythe gold a day?

Kinda crazy when all their doing is botting.

I agree. I have never supported auto bumpers. People argue that they should be allowed because it's a free market which is ridiculous lol. It's so unprofessional to have a bot increase the activity of your thread. It contributes to an over all messy looking forum.

Btw, another weird rule in the graphic section is that you're not allowed to receive or give vouches. You're only allowed to receive "feedback" on the work you do (:wat:???). No clue how it works in other sections.

We are not discussing bots here, we are talking about leaving feedback in the selling/buying threads and how that benefits the traffic in the forum.
