[APPROVED] remove autobumping in gold selling/buying section

I'm hereby suggesting that it shouldn't be allowed to autobump your rsgold selling/buying threads.

There are currently rules that if they are bumped but not buying or selling you can report them and it will be taken care off, however even after doing this there always is the response "not enough evidence" and their threads just keep on being autobumped.

I don't see how removing this would impact anyone:
- the actual 24/7 open sellers/buyerse are having their threads bumped by buyers and sellers via vouches.
- the active single buyers and sellers just bump when they start trading and when they can again after 8 hours.

It's really annoying to have people having their thread autobumped and then finding out they are not online or just don't have any gold.

Either the ruling on this has to change or just don't allow autobumps on these threads.

 

I found the price change in the title the worst suggestion that was approved in Sythe history, this suggestion here is a step forward in the right direction.

Edit: as per @Sythe "We're going to start handing out 24h bump bans for false advertising.

A bump means you're open and trading. If you go offline after a couple of hours that's not a big deal but if you bump and you're not open, we're not very impressed".

A staff member would need to confirm this, however.

 

I’ve messaged many gold buyers because their thread was bumped mins ago, just to find out they’re offline or not buying, so yeah I support this, bump ur shit when you’re really offering that service.

 

Support the auto bump removal if they can be proven. I think there should be a rework on bumping your threads, in the sense of. In the next xxx minutes/hours if subject to multiple inquires, you're required to be online and handle them, just like a business has open and close hours.

I do not see how these two comments tho would support your argument. When i bump my thread, this doesn't mean i'm buying gold for the next 8 hours, it just means i'm open for the time being. As the rule states.
perhaps you can put in a suggestion that when you bump your thread, you must be buying/selling for xxx amount of time, but than their is another flaw. If say, i'm holding gold and i can't afford anymore, when someone contacts me i will simply tell them, Not buying atm. This doesn't mean if you come to me in 20 minutes or an hour i wont buy your gold, but just at the current moment, i'm at max capacity. Same goes for selling.

 

I think @video would agree that auto-bumping a thread (while you arent online) in a market section is akin to false advertisement. If you are not online, you are not selling gold, therefore you should not be advertising that you are selling gold at the moment by bumping your thread.

 

This is correct and we have no plans to restrict autobumpers. If you autobump and are not online you can be reported for false advertising
