    Any experience with keto diet?

Coming to the end of my summer cut and currently sitting at 9% at 180lbs, starting to plateau a lot and have been cycling carbs, however thinking about running full keto to shift these final percents. baring in mind im weight training 6-7 days a week with cardio on top, is keto even viable when bodybuilding ?

Keto is definitely viable when bodybuilding, for the first week you'll feel pretty weak and fatigued as your body is not use to the lack of carbs. Once your body reaches ketosis, your body will begin to use fat as a fuel for your lifts and you will burn fat much quicker. Most of the bodybuilders are on keto diets the last few weeks before a contest to get as shredded as possible. I had a lot of success with keto, especially because I naturally do not eat too much carbs, it was easy for me to completely cut it out from my diet.

Not that viable as your working quite hard, you'll need to eat some weird ass food to reach your calorie goals, like pots of sour cream lol. Would take alot of effort but you'd definately benefit, not just from weight loss but general day to day energy.

    Any experience with keto diet?

I'm gonna be honest.. My sister in law started this diet 1 year ago after her pregnancy and was having problems losing weight with regular diet's she started Keto and I was ape rival she lost 54 pounds and looks crazy within 6 months I wouldn't agree with the bodybuilding part because most people body building eat a variety and even cycle to gain results keto is a way different lifestyle than a bodybuilding diet from what I have seen

It's been going well, im shredding daily and still full of energy.

I agree it's slightly unorthodox for bodybuilding, but I've been maintaining high protein to stop muscle loss.

Totally agree but everyones body is different.. It was suprising to me how many bodybuilder did IF (fasting) when they didn't compete.. Rather than keto because of the whole fatty thing... Maybe to control the body of the cycling

if your doing keto make sure to stay high fat, and restrict your protein and carbs, avacados, olives, olive oil, butter, lard etc... i also added time restricted eating from 2-8pm and once a week i do a 24hour fast (only drink water) between that and short fast workouts (20 second rest between sets) im in the gym only 25minutes it has worked wonders for me lost 50 pounds and lost alot of body fat. Goodluck buddy.

I hope a lot of this was water weight, if not that is very scary man. Cutting you want to lose about 2 lbs each week, and when bulking you want to gain about 2-3 lbs each week for healthy results.

Personally, I have not underwent a Keto diet but if you want my advice, you should invest into Precision Nutrition and earn your PN1 certification. The reason I suggest it is because you’ll be able to learn how to abstain a holistic understanding on how to effectively implement fat loss and stimulate muscle gain. In short, I have seen people who are successful with this diet but a diet isn’t permanent and I feel as though you could adjust your overall choices for consumption and that would further suit you more.

My friend did ketogenic diet for 3 weeks along with a combination of fasting between 5pm and 10am every day and lost 7kg in 3 weeks. It's definitely worth a shot, but you can't do the keto diet forever it's not good for you.

I tried it and hated it, but it's good for a lot of people and very muscle preserving.

It will be good for lowering your fat percentage down a little more but your strength gains will suffer

Honestly coming back to this thread I'm really considering doing it for a few months leading up to summer break. However, working out will be fucking miserable with no carbs, but I'll burn a lot of fat.

I have known a few people who have done this now. I think an overall healthier diet choice combine with working out some cardio
would be a more viable option for losing weight healthy and keeping it off.
