Ancient Astronaut Theory

I have always thought that this concept was plausible, but have never looked into it or researched it. I was not aware that it is actually a theory.
But what reason could these extraterrestrials have for interferring with our world? If we are so primitive to them why go out of their way to help us?

I mean if in the vast emptiness of the universe, you knew that there was another planet that could sustain complex life, wouldn't you be at all interested in it?

And if you knew you could go there, show them some of your technology, and basically be treated like a god and teach them like they were your children, wouldn't you be at all interested in it? I mean who wouldn't want to be treated like a god lol.

Or maybe they could have been using this planet for mining resources that are extremely rare in the universe? And just happened to stumble upon some humans and decided to show them some tricks? You should try searching for Nazca Lines if you're interested in this stuff.

Well I don't really "believe", I know they do. It's not a conspiracy anymore, these people have openly stated that they control society and have been for a long time. But the corporate media doesn't report on that do they?

I think you miss my point; I was merely surprised that you'd rather believe in aliens than the notion of elitist control (something you have self-proclaimed to know well).

Oh my god, why is it so fucking hard for people to understand the meaning of a theory. A theory doesn't need any fucking god damned evidence, it is an explanation of a set of facts. Here is the fucking definition for ya:
Like honestly think about what your saying... Don't bring in a stupid dictionary definition, because it's not about the definition of the word theory, it's about the rationality of it.

Like ask yourself, how is your theory more credible then let's say "WELL NO SHIT BROTHER, WHY BELIEVE IN ALIENS, THE BEST EXPLANATION IS ACTUALLY JUST "GOD!". After all, can't all these phenomenom be explained by the modern super-powerful invisible man in the sky?

This is where evidence becomes neccesary for credibility to stand.

But if they are so much more advanced than we are, then they wouldn't bother coming in contact with us. A comparable example is humans and ants; even if we found a way to communicate with ants, what use would that be to us?

Rather believe in? I believe in both.

Dude, you are one stupid motherfucker. "yeah lets just ignore the definition of the word" lmao. If someone thought that god was a better explanation, then I would ask what their reasoning was. This reasoning would most likely be very faulty and have tons of loopholes. I know this through years of experience debating with Christians, but if you think you can back up the theory any better, then go right ahead, I'm listening.

This theory is way more credible than god. Look at how many "miracles" there are today as compared to 2000 years ago, almost none. Why? Because we found out through science and technology that these miracles can be explained by natural phenomena. If you showed a lighter to some people 2000 years ago, they would fucking think you're god and worship you. The ancient astronaut theory is a much better explanation than "god" or "people just believed in random shit for no reason". For years I was trying to decide if there was actually a god and the bible was true, or everything was made up. I knew that both these theories were faulty and didn't make sense at all, so I thought either they were both true or they were both wrong. Then I discovered ancient astronaut theory and it all made sense, it stated that religious people were actually believing in a real event and were worshiping something way more advanced than them, and it also implied that god wasn't real but was merely a false assumption due to a lack of understanding of technology.

If you think you're so smart, then whats your explanation? Oh, people just randomly started believing in some god and jesus guy? Where's the evidence for that and what's your logic?

But if they are so much more advanced than we are, then they wouldn't bother coming in contact with us. A comparable example is humans and ants; even if we found a way to communicate with ants, what use would that be to us?

Wouldn't bother coming in contact with us? Do you realize how rare life is in the universe? And more specifically, life that's intelligent and is aware of it's existence? I mean, NASA is going crazy over a few fossils of bacteria on Mars, imagine what they will be thinking when they find an active civilization. And I doubt we wouldn't care if we found that civilization to not be as advanced as us. I mean, monkeys and other animals are less intelligent than us, but we've studied the crap out of them and know everything about them. Just like us, extraterrestrials would get their asses over here and study and observe us, and possibly try to communicate with us. Isn't that what we'd do if we found complex life somewhere in the universe? No one would care how intelligent they are compared to us, they would try to go communicate with them and find out more about them. And even if they already know everything about us, they are probably entertained by all the wars that are going on and want to see whats happening and what our fate is going to be. Were just like ants in an ant farm to them.

Maybe my example was a poor one. I don't believe life is as rare as you might think in the universe. There was a short movie on YouTube or something that showed the incredibly huge number of planets and galaxies located in one insignificant portion of space as seen through the Hubble Telescope. This shows that life is certain AND in abundance throughout the universe.
What I meant to say is that if an extraterrestrial civilization had the technology to travel to Earth, they may not feel that it is worth it to travel years and years to reach a civilization that they can learn little from.

Just because there are tons of planets, doesn't mean life is abundant. The conditions for a galaxy, a solar system, and a planet needed to sustain complex life need to be perfect. The planet needs to have the perfect gravity, atmospheric pressure, star size, distance from the sun, etc. There are many more and if one of these parameters was a tad off the scale, complex life wouldn't be possible.

And time never halts exploration. NASA has sent out probes that would take years to get to a destination, just to take pictures of a planet. People have also traveled for months, just to jump around on some lifeless moon and bring back rock samples. People traveled for months in a boat with a high risk of dieing, just to explore new land. I highly doubt that if we found life somewhere else in the planet, even if it was less complex than ours, that we'd just give up if it took too long to get there.

Dude, you are one stupid motherfucker.
lol. Ok, and you are are really really cool online. Congratz.

"yeah lets just ignore the definition of the word" lmao.
Yes, let's ignore it please. I can make a THEORY that leprechauns actually control the world, and tell you the definition of the WORD theory... Too bad semantics won't add much credibility.

If someone thought that god was a better explanation, then I would ask what their reasoning was. This reasoning would most likely be very faulty and have tons of loopholes.
It would most likely be faulty because it lacks evidence. After all, you can't disprove God can you? Sounds much like the alien argument. Both theories are equally horrible.

This theory is way more credible than god.
Credible? Zero is equal to zero. Zero evidence, zero credibility.

Look at how many "miracles" there are today as compared to 2000 years ago, almost none. Why? Because we found out through science and technology that these miracles can be explained by natural phenomena.
So what's the point of bringing aliens into this argument?

For years I was trying to decide if there was actually a god and the bible was true, or everything was made up.
It took you years? And you call me the stupid fucker lol.

If you think you're so smart, then whats your explanation? Oh, people just randomly started believing in some god and jesus guy? Where's the evidence for that and what's your logic?
Simple, evidence of people believing in God can be found in stone tablets and paintings, much before Christianity even existed. You randomly started believing in this alien theory did you not? Did YOU need evidence? It just made "sense" no?

Most Religions are born in a simple fashion. A great man lives, and the people after him turn his life into a supernatural phenomenon. Seems pretty consistent throughout history. After the religion develops, elitists use it to better control society. Nothing spontaneous about it at all.

Hypothetical bullshit.

I still believe that it is bullshit, and people believe in weird stuff, until proven otherwise. I find this remotely plausible though, as opposed to what theists believe.

This would also explain why there were, supposedly, a lot of people running around at Jesus' time doing similar things.

If you are into this theroy, Study Egypt and the great pyramids. I believe aliens once lived there. After atlantis was destroyed. So do the freemasons...but you didnt hear that from me.

So far the majority of you seems to be offended one way or another or have anger for those who simply find a theory more believable then what you say.

This theory is a possibility. It is pure opinion if you think its silly or stupid. Theories are based on facts and observations.

Although I found it quite amusing that most of you couldn't find a solid counterargument; but, instead support their own argument with opinion and by expressing continuous words saying stupid in the end; I do see how ones view is different but in sense of logic and reason....you are doing no more than flaming and arguing over how the his opinion is wrong.

Believing in a theory doesn not mean they have to believe in all theories.

Religions are created through readings and collections of books prior to time where understandings lack. Followed by a group collecting members eventually growing to vast majorities. They includes only information that supports their beliefs.

I've seen something like this on History Channel. I do believe Aliens or "Ancient Astronauts"
