Account Scams Galore: What do I do?

A year ago I came in and bought a RuneScape account and was scammed out of $180 within the first day of getting it. PayPal wouldn't refund me my money.

I then bought another account for something along the lines of $250. Today, about a year and a half later. I logged on and it appears the guy recovered the account.

What do I do in these scenarios?

@Themrman You should NEVER buy an account from someone. They can always be recovered at any time, and its quite a common scam. You are better off making your own account and paying for it to be trained (by someone highly trusted) than to buy one. Some accounts being sold for $300 took 1,500 hours to make, if it sounds too good to be true it usually is.

Also please do as @Buyacc said, report the person so there aren't anymore victims.

 

Pay extra for peace of mind. I've only purchased accounts from VERY trusted individuals and have not had one case of recovery.

 

Never buy accounts from people unless they are really trusted and the original owner. Even if someone really trusted is selling an account, if they aren't the original owner, the original owner can still recover it.

 

Plenty of legitimate users on here who have sold accounts for years go with them. Never trust the new market users at all, you’ll only get disappointed when it comes to accounts.

 

Yeah. First guy was reported and his account closed here. Big whoop. He lost his Sythe account. I never got anything back.

This second guy seemed trustworthy. Lo-and-behold a year and a half later he recovered his account.

 

Account selling is rough, I'd never personally purchase a high level account because of the risk.

What you can do is mule, ie. keep the items you use on another account and switch between them. I have friends who do this with accounts they have purchased.

But your best bet would be just paying for them to be trained by someone else. Another good option would be to play legitimately to around 1300 level and bot max combat etc, I did this botting around 20 hours a day on my main for around three weeks straight to get max cmb and had no issues a year later.

Lots of good premium scripts about and it'll cost you half as much as it will buying an account

 

You could've spent all that money you spent on those accounts that you lost on decent power leveling on your own made account. In this day and age it's pointless buying other peoples accounts, the value to hours spent ratio is just too out of whack. Only trust very reputable people on here who have been around for a while or else you'll just end up with the account being recovered back.

It's easy for someone to sell something for $300+ dollars, spend the money and wait 5-6 months whist you play, level the account and spend money on it and then recover it back. Win win for them, and just a big ol' fuck you to you.

 

Account power levelling is relatively cheap nowadays.
Also, you can get exactly what you want.
The account also wont be recoverable

I've been scammed of accounts a few times so I finally just made one and did minor work and hired people to help me for less than what I would have paid for the account if I bought it. Usually the first password for the acc and Jagex being able to see the creator IP address is a done deal. If they want it back, they can get it whenever they want.

Try and only buy from trusted members when possible.

 

what about us serious sellers who are willing to sell our accounts?

because there is a bad apple in the basket, shouldn't mean that every apple is bad

 

Sell to resellers, they take
extra measures to make sure the acc is secure, but you kind of get sht quotes. Or you can build rep

 

You can still put it up for sale, surely some people will still buy regardless of the warnings.

OT: I personally wouldn't buy from anyone, not even a super trusted user, you'll never feel secure, what if the extremely trusted user decides to quit sythe, move on with his life and 3 years later he still recovers the account?
