[ACCEPTED] Change how market bump timers work.

Well im not really that much involved in trading scene on sythe but i definitly agree with you if theres 8h bump limit there shoud be 8h bump limit even if post is deleted.

 

For the purpose of verifying OP's claims, I bumped my thread, waited for someone else to bump their thread, deleted my post, then made another post to verify that doing that does indeed bump the thread again.
This is like the oldest trick in the book, I remember someone on Powerbot complaining about a mod infracting them for doing that in 2009. I'd have thought something like that would have been patched on this forum years ago.

 

There have been instances where i saw someone bump their quest thread already (around when i bumped mine), only to check the section later and see their thread near the top again and ask myself am i tripping? im sure there are people who abuse this regularly and as OP mentioned, it is hard to catch. i support and hopefully this can be fixed easily.

 

this makes sense to me

a slightly more drastic variant would be extending the timers to account for the latest post made by anyone (not just the owner) on the thread to prevent the scenario where I bump at noon and a "customer" bumps before 8pm. this would essentially not let threads reappear more than once every 8 hours, which might even the playing field a little between larger sellers, whose "customers" bump their threads more often, and smaller operations, which generally only reappear once every 8 hours due to the bump timer rule.

 

Hmm, I kind of think 8 hours to bump a thread is quite a long time anyway i notice my thread after 8 hours ends up on like the 5th page which people in 'Runescape Skilling' Section from what i know don't go 5 pages in to find someone, i think maybe it could be lowered to maybe 6 hours? i'm confused if this isn't the topic (Ignore if it's wrong) lol

 

Just get rid of vouch bumping and this won't be a problem

 

How about disallowing posts to be deleted like in donor dicing

Like the super easiest way to keep your thread up and honestly never have to bump it is if your customer just replies to the thread. Like I am really not understanding why this whole bumping issue is now taking up like 20 threads and everyone wants different things.

 

Weird that it's a suggestion which has not been realized yet. This is a very common practice in most forums for forever already.
