    No ads for Donators?

Why? Many sites with a donation feature have ads hidden from donors. Nobody will pay a monthly fee for donating. Just use ad-block plus.

    No ads for Donators?

Because a single donation is fixed, Sythe gets paid monthly for having the ads there.

I'm sure that a single person's donation would be worth much more than Sythe would receive from a couple months of that person viewing an ad.

I don't mind the idea, but then again people are going to donate the minimum to avoid the ads.

Why is this a problem? Ads increase page load time and sometimes slow down people's PCs.

I always block ads because of this and the threat of viruses...

You're not going to get a virus from an advert..

Especially if you don't click on them >_>

Lol it most likely won't happen, or let me rephrase... It won't happen.

Sythe is going to whore in as much money as he can. I mean come on look at that stupid thing next to ad brite he wants someone else to advertise there. An owner that cared about his members more than money would consider it, but is he even on to read this thread? Most likely not... Does he care what you think? Nope... They want money and thats the end of it.

I think I gave a good answer to this thread. One of the over worked, under appreciated mods can lock this.

You barely even notice the ads anyways, why does it make a difference?

Well, as I said; this would make more people donate. Therefore, I think he would earn more money if something like this happend.

Why does it matter? It's not hurting you and when you click them it only does good. It's not like they're in the way of anything.

Sythe should add more ads, remove a few for $5+ and all for $25+.... :/

I like that idea, I mean I plan sometime to donate more but paypal isn't open to do anymore so it kinda sucks.
I'm not sure but Neowin has a way around getting scammed by paypal so Sythe should be able to I would donate a few bucks overy so often then.

I used to think exactly the same, until I started hosting my own websites. Sythe isn't made of money, and he's not here to baby you all. He's doing this, regardless of the fact that he 'barely breaks even'. According to him, the site costs 400$ a month, and I'm guessing an extra 10$ a year for the domain. Not to mention dealing with all of the attacks, he does pay out a lot.

Instead of doing donators, I believe it would be wise to do subscriptions. A cheap 5$ a month to remove the ads, and, oh, gain access to a private forum where there are recently discovered bugs, or something that people want.

That way, he brings in an extra 5$ a month per subscription, instead of a life time. (He could also run donations on the side, as well).

And I believe a bit better organization of the ad blocks is necessary, right now, they're very ineffective.
