No Ads for Donators

Sythe uses manual ads from gold4rs and such.
But they also use google ads (at the bottom etc).

It won't get taken off for donators, it's good income for the site, period.

 

No support.. as others have stated they don't bother people as much & ads help sythe stay up.

Even high donators, let's say someone donates $200, or even $300 for that matter. For a LIFETIME of no ads.

That would pay off, maybe a year or so of no ads (not even that, now that I've found out they use google ads at the bottom of the page).. But what happens after? Sythe starts losing a lot of potential money.

No support for the last time, this is not needed at all. No one is going to donate $100+ just for the ads to disappear, and if they DO it would be unfair to the site.

Yea I figured they were using manual ads, which they pay for monthly / weekly or something.
Didn't know they also used google, but yea that just means they make WAY more from the ads then I originally stated.
Google adsense is what makes sites stay up a lot of the time, It's actually ridiculous how much you can make from it - especially on a site like this.

People already donate to Sythe, if an another advantage would come up even more people would donate. It would increase donations for sure, and if some donators would not see the ads it would not cause any problems.

Lym, I have more expierence in this and I know how to the various Advertising system work. If this would be implemented, Sythe would get more money.

How do you have more experience? You show to have absolutely NO experience in this debate. You aren't providing any actual reasoning behind your statements.

No, it would not increase donations. If someone is going to donate $100+, they will do it for the other perks. Removing the ads as a perk is pointless and will lose money.

Show me your "experience" you've had, how can you compare how much experience you have compared to me if you have no idea who I am and what I've done?

 

Sythe gets new members everyday, we are not a community of a limited amount of people.

The more advantages for Donators we make, the more they will Donate.

 

Wow, I'm going to say one last thing.

Go do some research and think about what you're saying more.

MORE MEMBERS = MORE AD REVENUE.

Edit: you're a $5 donor, I don't think you have a right to say what higher donors want as a perk.
I'm sure if you were to ask us all, the larger percentage would say "I don't care, ads help the site".

As you can see already, every $100+ that has posted has either said no support, or in Video's case has been trying to suggest ways that still bring in monthly revenue. I'd support Video's idea, but not yours.

 

Little more donators = even more revenue, plus it is a big advantage.

 

Ok. So a person donates some money to not see any more ads. The money would pay itself off, eventually, and then what? Sythe starts losing money.

Subscriptions are unrealistic, and that's all that would really work to keep it viable. If Sythe had intrusive ads, I'm sure that people would be queuing up to pay a few dollars a month to not see any of those adverts - but they're not. The ads are relevant to the site, and in my opinion, they're not really an eye-sore. They take about an inch and a half of room on my screen, so it doesn't really faze me, at all.

Therefore, no support.

 

Similar to my idea, but recurring. But I doubt people would pay that, and it's much more than ad revenue... But another POV.

 

Worst-case, no one buys it. Best-case, you wind up getting much more revenue from a donation than you would an ad. I'm sure at least 1 person will be encouraged to donate to have an ad-free site. It just seems like a win-win all around

The ads really aren't in the way...

 

No support, Ads bring in revenue for Sythe, and they do not bother me one bit. In fact, I hardly notice they are there at all. Removing them for donators would decrease their worth, which in turn would most likely make less money for Sythe.

 

If some High Donators would have an ability to disable them - that would not be a big change.

But if this would happen, more people would donate and would donate more, that would be a big change.

 

I doubt anyone is going to donate a high amount of money to remove ads that are not bothersome in the slightest bit.

Would you be against ads being removed solely for people who make a recurring monthly donation of, say, $5? Each person using sythe brings in perhaps a few pennies of revenue per month from the ads. This would more than offset that lost revenue and would actually benefit the user and the site itself
